1.I’ve been at River School，London，since I was eleven.从我11岁开始，就在伦敦的里弗学校(就读)。
表示瞬间动作的单词(open，buy，borrow，come，finish，die，become，join，go，fall，start，begin，arrive，leave，lose等)用于现在完成时态时，不能与表示一段时间的时间状语(since，for，how long等)连用，应将这些动词改为表示持续动词的词。如：
那只狗已经死了两个月了。
The dog died two months ago.
The dog has been dead for two months.
2. Then everyone goes to the main hall.
然后每个人都到大厅去。
everyone意为“每人；人人”。不定代词everyone，everybody，anyone，anybody，nobody，everything，anything，nothing作主语时，谓语动词要用单数形式。如：
Everyone has a chance to win.
每个人都有机会赢。
3. Some people learn German instead of French.有些人学德语而不学法语。
instead of意为“而不是”，是介词短语，如果后面用动词，则要用动名词形式。
注意：instead和instead of的用法区别
如：I will teach you English instead of Mr Smith.
我将代替史密斯先生教你们英语。
I don’t like watching TV.Let’s go to the cinema instead.我不想看电视。我们去看电影吧。
4.After-school activities，such as sports clubs and language societies，are popular too.
课后活动，例如运动俱乐部和语言社团，也很受欢迎。
such as意为“例如；比如”，用来列举同类事物，如果列举的是若干动作，则要用动名词形式。如：
Matt has visited a lot of cities，such as Beijing，Shanghai and Guangzhou. 马特游览过很多城市，例如北京、上海和广州。
I think sports，such as jogging，tennis and riding bikes，are good for us.　我认为运动对我们有益，比如慢跑、打网球和骑自行车。
