(3)在“表语+系动词+主语”结构中。
【归纳拓展】

National parks in the USA aren’t dog-friendly; while we knew this was the case for some parks, we had heard it varied from park to park. My husband, Mitchell, and I are always on the lookout for dog-friendly options at each national park. We have been to quite a few national parks now and in general, the rule is that dogs must always be on a leash(用狗绳拴住) and stay on paved(铺好的) path areas, no hiking trails(小径).
Yosemite was probably one of the more dog-friendly national parks we’ve been to as there was a longer paved bike trail in addition to a few shorter paved pathways that were dog-friendly. However, the hiking trails were still a no-go. For this reason, we haven’t spent as much time in Yosemite National Park and instead have enjoyed the state parks and national forest that surrounds them.
Dog-friendliness aside, we have not for a second regretted visiting a national park and Yosemite was no exception. You must visit Yosemite if you ever get the chance. There were truly beautiful mountains and even though Mitchell and I grew up in the shadow of(在……附近) the Rockies we were completely impressed by this new landscape. We were fortunate to visit in the fall which had the added benefit of the beautiful colours and fewer people! The landscape easily looked like it could be a painting.
After Yosemite, we had originally planned to make our way to Death Valley. After some discussion, we decided to take a little detour(绕道) and visit Lake Tahoe. The lake was beautiful and there seemed to be signs everywhere for ski hills and endless outdoor activities. We ended up staying for two days at the Zephyr Cove RV Park and Resort. We were able to wash clothes on site, shower and even use their Wi-Fi to catch up on work. We had ended up travelling farther than we planned each day and it was nice to recharge and stay in one place a little longer. We’ve come to the conclusion we’re still working on slowing down.
4.What is the rule for dogs in national parks in the USA
A.They are allowed on all trails in dog-friendly parks.
B.They are allowed on hiking areas in certain parks.
C.They are permitted to be off-leash.
D.They are limited to paved areas.
5.Why did the couple stay in Yosemite National Park for a short time
A.They preferred state parks.
B.They had been there many times.
C.They wanted to hike with their dog.
D.They needed to travel farther than planned.
6.Why does the author mention the Rockies
A.To stress the beauty of Yosemite.
B.To express her desire to visit the Rockies.
C.To describe the breathtaking landscape of her hometown.
D.To show the differences between the Rockies and Yosemite.
7.What can be inferred about the couple from the last paragraph
A.They felt relaxed after slowing down.
B.They didn’t reach their intended destination.

Set in the rosy sandstone desert of northeastern Arizona, Canyon de Chelly National Monument is filled with paradox(悖论),because although the ruins are vast, they give us more questions than answers. Home of a large population, the settlement at Canyon de Chelly seems to have been abandoned almost overnight, for no apparent reason.
Archaeologists(考古学家) have found that people lived in Canyon de Chelly for longer than they lived in almost any other place in early America. Filled with beauty, the national monument covers 131 square miles, including the canyons of the de Chelly, del Muerto, and Monument River. With steep canyon walls and rushing rivers, this is an excellent place to explore cool spots on the canyon floors.
Most park guests arrive by car and begin their visit on South Rim Drive or North Rim Drive. The changes of altitude in the monument are truly dramatic with thousands of feet drops. For example, the highest park lookout is at 7,000 feet while the visitor’s center is at 5,500 feet. On the South Rim Drive, you’ll find the White House Ruin is located in a long and low cave in a rocky face. While hiking the White House Ruin Trail,be on the lookout for wildflowers and rock art.For a fun side trip, head to the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, which is home to 700 different plant species, including many gorgeous wildflowers.
In nearby Chinle, Arizona, you can arrange for special park guides. The weather can be unpredictable here,so always carry a raincoat with you and prepare for sudden afternoon showers. Generally, the spring and fall are the best time to visit. Summer is hot and dry,and winter is cold, and snowy. In the fall,be particularly aware of thunderstorms that can blow in quickly.

A.Thrilled. B.Regretful.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
In a quiet little town, there was a small park where children would laugh and play. In the center of this park stood a wooden swing set. Among the children, a nine-year-old girl named Lily had a special bond with this swing. Every day after school, she would rush to the park, her backpack bouncing against her back, and spend hours soaring through the air, her laughter mingling with the wind.
Lily’s best friend, Ethan, was a boy who lived next door. They were inseparable, sharing secrets, dreams, and endless adventures. Often, you would find them on those swings, their feet barely touching the ground, their imaginations taking them far beyond the confines of the playground. They dreamed of becoming astronauts, travelling to outer space, and discovering new worlds together.
One sunny afternoon, Lily tested the limits of the swing. With a determined push, Ethan soared high, feeling the thrill as the swing reached its top. “Look, Lily! I’m flying!” Ethan shouted, his laughter ringing through the air. But not far from the park, his parents watched them with great concerns. There was an uneasy tension growing. When Ethan came down from the swing, his parents rushed to the swing and took him home immediately.
Later that evening, Lily cried on the couch, her tears staining the fabric. “Mom, Ethan said he would not play with me anymore. Why?” she asked, worry pooling in her blue eyes. Her mother took a deep breath, but the words seemed to be trapped in her throat. “I’m not sure, sweetie. He… He might be leaving for a while.”
Days turned into weeks, and the park felt emptier without Ethan’s laughter. Each swing back and forth felt like a reminder of their vanished adventures. With every passing day, Lily’s heart sank deeper into confusion and sorrow. She hoped that he would return, refusing to accept that he might not come back again.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在相应的位置作答。
Eventually, Lily decided to write a letter to him. ___________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The next day, Ethan showed up in the park as expected. _____ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】
One possible version:
Eventually, Lily decided to write a letter to him. She sat at her desk by the window, picked up her favourite pink stationery and the pencil decorated with little flowers. Recalling the happy times on the swing with Ethan, Lily’s eyes became a little moist, but she held back her tears and wrote carefully. In the letter, she poured out her longing during these days.
She told him that the swing in the park was still there, but without his presence. Every time she swung on the swing, she missed the dreams they had once shared, the little secrets they had whispered to each other, and the laughter that had echoed in the air. She folded the letter carefully and put it into a light blue envelope. She wrote Ethan’s name neatly on the envelope and then went to Ethan’s house. She gently slipped the letter into his mailbox, her heart full of anticipation, hoping that this letter would bring Ethan back to her side.
The next day, Ethan showed up in the park as expected. Lily rushed to the park as usual after school. When she saw the familiar figure standing by the swing from a distance, her eyes lit up immediately and she ran over excitedly. Seeing Lily, Ethan showed a bright smile on his face. He told Lily that after receiving her letter, he had a deep conversation with his parents. He told them how much he missed Lily and how reluctant he was to leave the park and the swing.
Touched by their pure friendship, his parents agreed that he could come back to play with Lily. Lily happily took Ethan’s hand and they ran to the swing together. They sat on the swing again and the laughter rang out once more over the park, as if the previous parting had been just a short dream, and their friendship had become even deeper and more precious after this setback.(共66张PPT)

A walk in the park may be just what the doctor orders.A new programme launched in Canada gives some doctors the option of providing patients with a free annual pass to the country’s national parks as part of an effort to increase access to nature and the health benefits.
PaRx, a health initiative launched by the BC Parks Foundation in 2019, partnered with Parks Canada to provide doctors across four provinces with an initial run of 100 passes that can be prescribed(开处方).The programme allows doctors to write more general prescriptions for time spent out in nature; two hours a week, at least 20 minutes at a time, is what PaRx director Dr.Melissa Lem suggests.
“Given the growing body of evidence that indicates nature time can improve all kinds of different physical and mental health conditions, we’re hoping that our PaRx programme not only improves patient health, but reduces costs to the health-care system, and helps to grow the number of people who are more engaged environmental advocates,” said Prama Rahman, a coordinator for the BC Parks Foundation.
Doctors have been catching on, instructing their patients to turn to nature to improve their health and they’re getting creative in how they do it.Robert Zarr, a doctor based in Washington, began prescribing accessible outdoor activities for his young patients and even created a searchable online database of local parks to make it easier.
But getting outside isn’t always as easy as it might sound.Income can affect one’s access to nature, an issue that PaRx is trying to address in Canada.Doctors utilising the new national parks pass programme are urged to prioritise patients who might not otherwise be able to afford these passes.
While only 100 adult passes, which give holders access to more than 80 national parks, historic sites and nature reserves, have initially been made available, organisers plan to routinely reassess this number as the programme grows, the BC Parks Foundation told NPR.
1.What is PaRx intended to do
A.Qualify doctors to give prescriptions.
B.Give patients free access to parks.
C.Promote free admission to parks.
D.Advocate 20 minutes’ walk a day.
2.What does the underlined word “utilising” in Paragraph 5 probably mean
A.Caring about. B.Setting up.
C.Knowing about. D.Carrying out.
3.What can we infer from the last paragraph
A.The BC Parks Foundation is expanding rapidly.
B.The programme has signed with 80 national parks.
C.More people will benefit from the programme.
D.Those living close to parks can gain priority.
4.Which is the best title for the text
A.PaRx, a Nature Prescription Programme
B.The BC Parks Foundation in Canada
C.Year-long Passes to National Parks
D.A New Study on Benefits of Walking
【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了加拿大发布的一个新项目。该项目允许医生为需要户外治疗的病人开免费去公园的处方。
1.B 细节理解题。根据第一段中的“A new programme… to nature and the health benefits.”
根据最后一段中的“organisers plan to routinely reassess this number as the programme grows”可以看出,随着项目的发展,组织者计划重新评估(开放的公园)数量。由此可以推断,未来会有更多的病人因此受益。故选C项。
4.A 标题归纳题。通读全文,并根据第一段中的“A new programme launched in Canada…increase access to nature and the health benefits.”可知,本文主要介绍了加拿大发布的“免费公园处方”项目PaRx。因此,A项为本文最佳标题。故选A项。
