单元教材分析
本单元 (Rain or Shine) 主要围绕 “天气” 这一主题展开,该主题属于课标要求的 “人与自然” 主题范畴中的 “不同地区的生态特征与自然景观;热爱与敬畏自然” ,“人与社会” 主题范畴中的 “和谐家庭;节假日与庆祝活动” 子主题,以及子主题“人与自我” 主题范畴中的 “积极向上的生活;抗挫能力” 子主题。通过本单元的学习,学生能在描述不同天气状况和相应的人类活动的基础上,加强对不同地区天气以及人类活动的多样性的理解,树立全球视野,培养跨文化理解及包容的意识和能力。
在话题和主题意义上,本单元的引领性问题是:How does the weather affect us 单元主题大观念为 “缤纷气象享生活,奔赴山海趣旅行”。通过天气这一主题,引导学生探讨不同天气类型、气温以及在不同天气条件下的适宜活动,同时鼓励学生表达对天气的个人感受。这一过程旨在帮助学生认识到天气对日常生活的影响,并培养他们无论在何种天气条件下都能积极面对生活的态度。
在单元主题大观念 “缤纷气象享生活,奔赴山海趣旅行” 的引领下,本单元一共包含了两个小观念 ——“看天气万千” 和 “谈旅行见闻”。本单元教材内容包括六个部分。第一部分是 Section A 1a - 1d 和 Section A 2a - 2e,两者分别由两个大的听力练习构成,通过第一段听力的输入与学习,学生能了解到不同地区有不同的天气特点以及如何具体描述天气和气温。通过第二段听力的练习,学生能进一步了解不同城市的气候差异以及不同天气条件下可以对应开展的不同活动;第二部分是 Section A Pronunciation 部分,在前面单元语音学习的基础之上,本单元重点学习字母组合 ar ( /ɑ (r)/ )、er、ir ( / (r)/ )、or ( / (r); (r)/ )、ur ( / (r)/ ) 的发音,以及句子中重读单词和单词重读音节;第三部分是 Section A Grammar Focus,本单元的语法重点是询问和回答天气情况如何,以及用一般现在时和现在进行时描述和天气相关的活动;前三部分的内容,帮助学生建构单元第一个小观念 “看天气万千”;第四部分是 Section B 1a - 3c,内容是阅读与写作,阅读的是 Helen 和 Peter 两人写的旅游博客。两人分别介绍了自己在黄山观赏风景时的天气及感受,2b 是画一幅画并对画中的天气及人物活动进行描述;第五部分是 Project,为本单元的项目化学习内容,启发学生联系生活实际,将单元学习内容模拟运用到实际生活中,并进行小组展示;第六部分是教材附带的 Reading Plus Weather and Mood语篇内容是天气会影响人们的感受和行为。该篇阅读让学生了解了天气会对人们的情绪和行为产生影响,并意识到保持积极乐观心态以及户外活动的重要性,形成积极健康的生活态度。第四、五部分的内容学习,帮助学生建构单元的第二个小观念 “谈旅行见闻”。

What they know: In unit 5, students have already learned how to talk about people’s activities with present continuous tense and from last two periods of unit 6, students can describe diffenrent weather. What they want to know:They still confused about the differences between present continuous tense and the simple present tense and how to use them in different situations. How they learn: Through comparison, students will analyze the meaning, sentence structures, and functions of the two tenses. They can talk about different weather and activities better.
Teaching objectives
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: 1. Summarize and distinguish the differences in meaning and function between the simple present tense and the present continuous tense. 2.Correctly use the simple present and present continuous tenses in context to describe weather conditions and weather-related activities, and apply these tenses appropriately in daily communication based on actual needs. 3. Strengthen cultural identity and develop a stronger emotional connection to their homeland and country.

The important points: To summarize and distinguish the differences in meaning and function between the simple present tense and the present continuous tense. To understand the differences between the simple present tense and present continuous tense in their meanings, structures and signal words.
Step3 Chapter 2 Hometown Beauty 1. Show the recommendation with blanks. 2.Play a video about Herbin Ice and Snow World and let students think about the question: What do you think of this place 1. Complete the recommendation with the correct forms of the verbs in brackets. 2.Watch the video and answer the question.
