Dear Sir,
I am writing to complain about the terrible environment in our neighbourhood. However, I could see,from the front of my house, that it was Greenford Park in the past.
This place used to be beautiful and clean. But it is now being ruined (破坏). Are we, as local people,expected to keep our feelings inside
For the last month, I have noted the following actions that bring problems:
*The dropping of litter, fast-food bags, etc. ;
*The pouring of dirty water everywhere we walk;
*The ruined trees and wild plants when cars cross the area or park on it;
*The careless actions of dog owners who allow their pets to make the area dirty without clearing up the mess, which is bad for our health;
*Another problem is that there is noise from “music making” devices (设备) in fine weather. As a result, we can’t see any rabbits or other animals any more.
As people today pay more attention to “green”, I expect that our government might take the chance to create an area that would better protect the wildlife.
Yours faithfully,

The earth is the energetic planet that we call home. It appeared over 4.5 billion years ago. The earth might seem like a rock ball, but it’s actually made up of four different parts.
The inner core (核心) is at the centre of the earth. It’s a hard ball of hot metal, about 70 per cent the size of the moon. The temperature of the inner core can be as high as 6, 800°C and it’s the hottest part of the earth. The outer core circles (环绕) the inner core. Unlike the inner core, it is a liquid (液体的) layer, made mostly of iron. It’s less hotter than the inner core.
The mantle (地幔) is a thick layer. It circles the outer core and is about 2, 900 kilometers thick. The mantle is mostly made of rock, but it also includes some magma (岩浆). The magma melted (融化) under high heat and pressure, It finally comes out from volcanoes.
We live on earth’s crust(地壳), a layer of rock about 30 kilometers thick. That might seem thick, but it’s actually very thin, considering the size of the earth. There are two types of crusts: the mainland crust,which carries land, and the oceanic crust, which carries water. The thinnest parts of the crust are under the oceans, and the thickest parts are under the land. The earth’s crust is divided into large plates (板块). Scientists believe that these plates are moving all the time, which explains how the world looks.

C. What is the earth like. D. Why the earth looks like this.
( )30. Where can the readers find the passage
A. In a sports newspaper. B. In a travel guide.
C.On a news website. D. In a geography magazine.

On March 1st, 2024, three Spain-born pandas, Chulina, Jiu Jiu and YouYou, arrived in China after a 12-hour flight with their parents Bing Xing and Hua Zui Ba. All the pandas are in good health.
The panda parents started their life at the Madrid Zoo of Spain in 2007. Since then, they have given birth to six baby pandas there. Their three older children, born in 2010 and 2013, have already returned to China. Of the three younger ones, Chulina was born in 2016 and a pair of twins, You You and JiuJiu, were born in 2021.
Before the pandas returned to China, the Madrid Zoo held a party to say goodbye to this panda family. At the ceremony, Madrid’s mayor (市长) said, “Saying goodbye is sad, which is like saying goodbye to loved ones when they are going on a trip, but I’m also joyful because we have already had a close relationship with the cute pandas.”
The Madrid Zoo received the first pair of pandas from China in 1978. Four years later, Chu Lin was born, the first baby panda born in captivity (被圈养的) in Europe.
Over the years, workers in Madrid Zoo have learned to care for, protect and raise pandas with the help of Chinese and Spanish experts. “Through the pandas, I can learn a lot about the Chinese culture,” said Alejandro Cubrera, one of the men workers taking care of pandas. “They all have Chinese names and I know their meanings. Dear everyone
The South China Tiger is a kind of tiger that lives mainly in southern China. It is yellow and black with a round head. It has short ears and a long tail. It runs fast and is good at swimming. It feeds on other animals.
However, the number of the South China Tiger is becoming smaller and smaller. It is because some people kill the tigers for their fur and bones. In addition, people cut down trees and the tigers have no place to live. Now the South China Tiger is in great danger, so we must take action to protect them. We can make a difference by stopping people from hunting them. Besides, it is also a good idea to set up special organizations to improve their living conditions. Let's work together to protect the South China Tiger.
