Step 1 Lead-in 1.Ask them to finish 1a,and ask them to pay attention to the word before or after these sentences. 2.Ask them to say the structure of the past continuous tense. 过去进行时就是表示在过去某一时刻或某一段时间正在进行的动作。 Structure : 主语+be (was/were)+doing 否定句:主语+be (was/were)+not+doing 一般疑问句:Be/(was/were)+主语+doing I was travelling on the train . I was not travlling on the train. Were you travelling on the train Yes , I was ./No, I wasn’t . 3.Ask them how to use“while ”and“ when” when + 一般过去时(短动作)/过去进行时 表示:正在做某事,这事突然,后面可接延续性动词和非延续性动词 I was reading when the phone rang. while + 过去进行时, 表示:两个动作同时都在进行或后面只跟过去进行时,只能时延续性动 例句:While I was reading, he was sleeping. Whlie 后必须跟进行时,when 后可跟进行时,也可跟过去时,如果主句和从句都是过去进行时就只能用while Step 2 Work on 4b 1.Ask the studemts to read the sentences and know the meaning of the sentences . 2.Ask them to finish 4b 3.Check the answers together .
