Ⅰ.阅读理解

When people sit together at night and enjoy the glorious moon,an ancient Chinese poem written by Su Shi,Prelude to Water Melody·How Rare the Moon,So Round and Clear,is often read for this occasion.Critics say it’s probably the best poem about the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Let’s just focus on its most famous five lines to make some analyses.
In the first two lines of the five, the writer is comparing the life of a man with the changing face of the moon.In Chinese culture the moon is always considered to be a perfect carrier of emotions like nostalgia and longing for family reunions.A full moon symbolises perfection and unity, while a gloomy night may remind people of their fortunes. When the moon is round and fair but people are separated from their loved ones, such moments can be even more heartbreaking.
Before the comparison, the poet actually complains about the seemingly “ruthless (残酷无情的)” moon and asks her:You should have no spite (怨恨) against man,but why, when people part, are you often full and bright However,he soon realises that no one has an easy ride, just like the moon may not always be bright. The imperfections have been going on since the beginning of time. That’s why he says “There has been nothing perfect since the olden days.”
But should we get bogged down (被妨碍) by the suffering of things which we can’t change The poet gives his answer:Change your attitude and stay positive. So we have his everlasting line,“ ”The poet hopes that people appreciate the fact that no matter where they are,as long as the ones they love and miss are healthy and happy, they can all admire the same moon high in the sky.
To this day, people still use this verse to express their good will and wishes to family members and friends who can’t be with them, especially during major festivals.

Li Bai is regarded as the greatest romantic poet of the Tang Dynasty and a representative of the High Tang culture, the combination of realistic Northern culture represented by Confucian (儒家的) philosophy and romantic Southern culture represented by Taoist philosophy. But he could neither realise his Confucian ideal to serve the country nor find spiritual freedom in Taoism (道教),so he could only chant poetry and drink wine to drown his sorrow as described by Du Fu in Song of Eight Immortal Drinkers.

After more than 400 years,William Shakespeare(15641616) is still widely celebrated as a great craftsman of language and playwright (剧作家).But he was not the only great master of dramatic writing to die in 1616,and he is certainly not the only writer to have left a lasting impact on theatre. While less famous worldwide,Tang Xianzu is rightly considered one of the China’s greatest playwrights and is highly admired in that country of ancient literary and dramatic traditions.
Tang was born in 1550 in Linchuan,Jiangxi Province, and worked as a government official. In 1598,he retired to focus on writing. Unlike Shakespeare having plenty of plays and poems,Tang wrote only four major plays:The Purple Hairpins,A Dream Under the Southern Bough,The Handan Dream and The Peony Pavilion—widely considered to be his masterpieces. In the latter three plays, much of the story is told through dream sequences.Tang used these scenes to explore human emotions in ways that challenged the feudal system of his time.It is a similar dream structure that we find in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Tang lived towards the end of the Ming Dynasty(13681644) and his lasting success was partly due to the growth of theatre as an artistic practice during his lifetime. As in Shakespeare’s England,it became hugely popular in China, with public theatres opening in different cities and travelling performance groups becoming common.Theatrical audiences started to populate open public spaces, and theatre as a popular form of entertainment found its place outside palaces. However, unlike in Shakespeare’s England, there was hardly any mixing of the rich with commoners at theatrical events.
During this time, the way in which dramas were enjoyed, spread and performed also changed.Initially,Chinese dramas had an emphasis on poetic language and were distributed in book form,to be read like novels. They were seldom,if ever, performed. However, from the mid-16th century,Kunqu opera,a form of musical drama, spread from the south of China and became a symbol of Chinese culture.
While Tang and Shakespeare lived in a world away from each other, they shared in common the humanity of their drama, their heroic figures, their love for language,a lasting popularity—and the anniversary during which we still celebrate them.

根据第二段的“Unlike Shakespeare having plenty of... is told through dream sequences.” 故选A。
