Hello, everyone! I’m very glad to share a teamwork experience with you here.
Last month, we were divided into groups for a project on global warming. My team worked together to collect information and prepare our report. I focused on the influence of global warming, while the others explored useful ways. Everyone worked so hard and we worked so well together that the project was completed perfectly.

Do you do team projects at school? I do a lot. I enjoy team projects because I like sharing ideas with other people. Of course , team activities aren’t always easy. You need to know how to work well together. Here are some suggestions to make team work easier.
①
Make sure everyone understands the goal of the project. If you’re doing a class project , you need to check the teacher’s instructions carefully and ask questions whenever something isn’t clear. There’s a popular saying: If you don’t know where you’re going , you probably won’t get there.
Assign(指派) roles
Everyone should have a role in the team. For example , there should be a leader who helps everyone make decisions. There might be a note-taker who writes down the team’s ideas during meetings , and a time-keeper to control the time . There also might be a fact-checker or a group speaker.
②
For large projects , the work can be divided into smaller tasks. Then you can choose tasks that you do well in or enjoy. Of course , you shouldn’t always do the same task. It’s good to try new things , even if they’re difficult!
③
After you divide the work , write down a plan on paper. You can use a calendar to help you. List all the tasks and think about when each one must be finished. It’s important for everyone to follow a plan. And if you can’t finish your part on time , tell the others as soon as possible.
Try to be positive. Everything is easier when you are enjoying yourself in the team.

Last year I joined the soccer team at our school because I had an interest in playing soccer. Before long , there was an important soccer game held at our school.
Interestingly , I had never played soccer at all before joining the soccer team , so I had to work hard in training. Every day , I spent quite a lot of time practising playing soccer and I learned passing and blocking skills from my friends . After training and learning , I improved my skills and I could pass the ball well and shoot with my teammates.
We then had our first game. In the game , we were almost matched with the other team . My main task was to stop the other team’s players from scoring and passing the ball. Once I accidentally kicked the ball out of the line , I said sorry , getting ready to be criticized(批评). But to my surprise , my teammates just touched my shoulder and told me that I was doing well. The crowd even cheered and encouraged me to keep playing!
I felt the support from others and the beauty of the competition as a team member. For the rest ofthe game , I tried my best.
When the whistle(哨子声) sounded , we tied 1 : 1 , which meant a penalty shoot-out(点球大战) followed. My teammates and I were very nervous because we weren’t sure if we could score a penalty , but our leader hugged us with a bright smile on her face. She said , “Don’t worry about the score. What you should do is to enjoy every game!”
Even though we didn’t win the game in the end , I had new understanding of soccer—honor and victory aren’t all that matter; what’s more important is teamwork and friendship.

If you really want to succeed in life , it is very important to be a team player. For example , in a football game , Leo Messi is a great player , but he still has to work well with his team members to win a match , because every member of his team has a very important role and every member of the team is necessary to the success of the team.
The idea of team work also works well in other parts of our life. Lab(实验室) work and group programs require good teamwork experience with others . In the workplace , working together is also necessary for success , because one person cannot build a railway or control a train station.
Being a team player does not mean that one person should not have any ideas of his own. He doesn’t have to agree with the other team players all the time. A good team member should not be afraid to think of new ideas even the crazy ones. He needs to stick to his ideas and share them with the other members of the team. Those crazy ideas may help the team realise the dreams.
根据短文内容,完成下列各题。
36. Why is working together also necessary in the workplace?
Because one person cannot finish large tasks like building a railway alone.
37. What shouldn’t a good team member be afraid to do according to Paragraph 3?
A good team member should not be afraid to think of new ideas even the crazy ones.
38. Do you like to work in a team? Why or why not?
Yes , because working in a team allows us to share ideas and achieve goals together.(言之有理即可)
