Song Lingdong, made history. They did a spacewalk outside the Tiangong
Space Station and broke a world record. They are part of the three-person
team on Shenzhou-19.

The spacewalk started in the afternoon. Cai went out of the space
station first at 12:51 p.m. Song followed him about 100 minutes later.

Have you ever visited Xiong’an Business Service Center? Do you
know anything special about it? On top of the center’s six buildings, there
are about 28,400 solar panels(太阳能板). They match perfectly with the
traditional Chinese design of the buildings. If they were put together, the
solar panels would cover an area of 1.4 standard football fields. These
panels can now produce 5% of the electricity that is needed for the center.

Using local clean energy plays an important role in Xiong’an New
Area’s progress. Solar panels which cover some buildings are used to
provide electricity in the area. In the future, the solar panel project will
produce more electricity. The electricity will first be used by companies in
the area, and the rest will be shared.

The solar panel project is good for the environment and economy(经
济). It not only helps to reduce greenhouse gases(温室气体), but also
lowers electricity costs for companies in the area. The project is expected to
produce nearly 3.5 million kWh of electricity. This means that almost 2,
929 tons of greenhouse gases will be avoided every year.

There are already a number of projects in the area. These projects use
solar power and other clean energy. Two new projects will be started: an
energy-saving lighting project and a green heating project. The purpose of
the two new projects is to further cut pollution. Xiong’an New Area is on the
way to becoming a green modern city.

Have you found yourself listening to “ancient people” online
recently? The words “Look in my eyes! Tell me why!” have gone
viral.
Creative vloggers are using AI technology to bring famous people from
history like Tang Dynasty poets Li Bai and Du Fu “back to life”. These
videos have become popular, showing these ancient icons speaking in
modern language.

In one video, Du Fu talks about his experience during the An-Shi
Rebellion. In another, Ming Dynasty medical expert Li Shizhen makes fun
of modern lifestyles, like trying to be healthy by drinking goji berry water
but still staying up late. “The videos make me want to learn more about
important ancient people, such as Wen Zhengming and Tang Bohu. I didn’t
know much about their stories before,” said Wang Jiayi, 15, from
Shandong.

The new trend isn’t for everyone, however. The way these ancient
people speak, in high tones and always asking questions, annoys some
people. “They’re too pushy, which is different from how they really
were,” explained 14-year-old Wang Shuotong from Jiangsu. Xia Boen,
14, from Hubei, felt the same. But he was surprised to find that he
“remembered almost everything they said about their experiences and
achievements” thanks to the speaking style in the videos.
These videos use a more modern way to let ancient people “speak for
themselves”. However, we should be careful with these videos, making
sure they are not sharing fake information.

( A )9. What do the ancient icons do in the creative videos according
to Paragraph 2?
A. They speak in a modern way.
B. They write poems in modern styles.
C. They chat with popular vloggers about AI.

probably mean?
A. Makes someone happy.

A. He enjoyed watching them and found them fun.
B. He was surprised by the ancient people’s achievements.
C. He preferred traditional textbooks to these videos.
D. He disliked how they spoke but remembered what they said.
D

( C )12. According to the passage, what should we do when we
watch these videos?
A. Pay attention to the speaking style.
B. Check the creators of the videos.
C. Watch out for fake information.
D. Copy the way the ancient people speak.

  写作提示:
  1. Would you like a boy or a girl to be your leader?
  2. What do you hope he/she is good at? And why?
  3. What kind of person do you hope he/she is? And why?

  2. 词数100左右。
  参考词汇: quality品质; misunderstanding误解;
responsibility责任; united团结的

A good leader in my eyes

In my eyes, a good leader doesn’t have to be a boy or a girl
specifically. Both can be excellent if they have the right qualities.
Firstly, I hope he or she is good at communicating. Good
communication helps everyone share ideas freely, so we won’t have
misunderstandings when working on tasks like group projects.

Secondly, a good leader should be kind and responsible. Kindness
makes the team feel warm and united, while responsibility can make
sure we finish our work well.

Besides, a good leader should be patient and encouraging. When our
team is in trouble with a science project, a patient leader will listen to
our worries and say, “Let’s try again step by step.” This makes
everyone feel confident.
With such a leader, we’ll work happily and achieve success together.
