Last Monday was a day full of ups and downs, teaching me how much emotions can change everything.
In the morning, I forgot 31 my maths homework. When Mr. Lee asked for it, I felt a 32 wave rushing over me. I was so anxious that I started to shout 33 my deskmate, Lily, blaming her for not reminding me. Her eyes 34 red, and she said quietly, “I did remind you yesterday.” Those words hit me hard. I realized how 35 I’d been, and there was no reason to hurt her.
After class, I apologized to Lily. To my surprise, she smiled and said, “It’s okay. We all get upset sometimes.” Her kindness made me feel 36 . That afternoon, our class won the basketball game. Everyone thought it was such a 37 thing that we jumped and cheered together. I noticed how differently people 38 when they were happy—no one argued, and even the shyest students high-fived each other.
That day taught me: emotions are like mirrors. They show who we really are. When we let anger take over, we might hurt 39 around us. But when we hold onto kindness and gratitude, we make the world 40 than before.
