When Lin Qiao graduated from China Agricultural University in 2023, most of her classmates competed for well-paid jobs in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai. But the
24-year-old made an unexpected choice: she returned to her remote mountain village in the Qinling Mountains, to launch an organic farming project.
Lin’s village sits on the hillside, with terraces (梯田) that had been abandoned for years. Local villagers used to grow corn with chemical fertilizers and pesticides (农药), but the income was low, and the soil had been badly degraded. When Lin said she wanted to grow organic
kiwifruit without any chemicals, nearly all villagers doubted her. “They said I was wasting my college degree, and that the ‘fancy ideas’ would never work in the mountains,” Lin recalled.
With no initial support, Lin rented 20 acres of abandoned terraces, learned organic planting skills from her former university tutors, and worked in the fields every day. She used fallen leaves to make natural fertilizer, and built small water-saving irrigation systems to protect local water
resources. Two years later, her kiwifruit trees bore fruit, and the products sold well online at twice the price of ordinary kiwifruit.
试卷第 5 页,共 15 页
Seeing Lin’s success, villagers began to follow her. She taught them organic planting skills for free, helped them set up online shops, and even built a small study center for local teenagers to learn about ecological protection. By late 2025, over 40 families in the village had joined her
project, and the village’s per capita income had doubled.
“Rural vitalization (振兴) isn’t just about new roads or buildings. It’s about giving young people a reason to come home, to make our mountains greener and our villagers richer at the same time,” Lin told Reuters.
24 .Why did Lin Qiao return to her hometown
A .To take a well-paid local job
B .To look after her elderly parents
C .To teach at the local village school
D .To start an organic farming project
25 .What challenge did Lin Qiao face at first
A .Shortage of online sales channels
B .Lack of professional planting skills
C .No support from her university tutors
D .Local villagers’ disbelief in her plan
26 .What made Lin’s kiwifruit popular online
A .Villagers’ nationwide promotion
B .Its chemical-free organic quality
C .The university’s advertising help
D .Its lower price than ordinary kiwifruit
27 .What can we infer from Lin Qiao’s story
A .College graduates can only succeed in rural areas
B .Young people can play a key role in rural development
C .Organic farming is the only choice for China’s agriculture
D .Online sales are the only way to increase villagers’ income

To achieve the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality (碳达峰与碳中和), scientists
试卷第 6 页,共 15 页
worldwide are seeking efficient ways to turn carbon dioxide (CO2) into useful resources. In
November 2025, a research team from the Chinese Academy of Sciences released a breakthrough: an artificial photosynthesis (光合作用) system that can fix CO2 with record-high efficiency,
bringing new possibilities for low-carbon development.
Traditional industrial carbon capture technologies usually have high energy consumption and low conversion rates, and most can only store CO2 underground without reusing it. The new system, however, imitates the natural photosynthesis of green plants. It uses a low-cost catalyst
(催化剂) to turn CO2 and water into organic matter and oxygen under sunlight, with almost no
extra energy input. Lab tests showed that its CO2 conversion efficiency is 8 times higher than that of natural plant photosynthesis, setting a new global record.
Different from previous lab-level technologies that can only work in strict experimental
environments, this new system is highly adaptable. It can work normally under normal
temperature and pressure, and even perform well in weak sunlight on cloudy days. The research leader, Professor Wang Wei, said the system is also highly scalable: it can be made into small
devices for office buildings, or expanded into large-scale systems for factories to process exhaust gas.
At present, the team has signed cooperation agreements with 3 domestic new energy
enterprises to promote the industrialization of the technology. “This technology is not just a lab achievement. It can directly serve China’s dual carbon goals, and help more industries realize low-carbon transformation,” Professor Wang said in an interview. “We hope this system can
become a practical tool to turn ‘carbon emission’ into ‘carbon resource’ in the near future.”
28 .What is the core advantage of the new system
A .It has a much lower cost
B .It needs no extra energy input
C .It sets a new global safety record
D .It has far higher CO2 conversion efficiency
29 .What does the underlined word “scalable” in paragraph 3 probably mean
A .Safe to use B .Easy to expand
C .Simple to produce D .Quick to promote
30 .What can we learn about the new system
试卷第 7 页,共 15 页
A .It only works in strong sunlight
B .It has been put into mass production
C .It imitates natural plant photosynthesis
D .It can only work in strict experimental environments
31 .What can we infer from Professor Wang’s words
A .The technology will face many unknown challenges
B .The system will help promote low-carbon development
C .The team will cooperate with foreign enterprises soon
D .The technology will replace all traditional carbon capture methods
D
For over 70 million deaf and hard-of-hearing people worldwide, communication with
hearing people has long been a tough barrier. Most sign language translation tools on the market can only recognize fixed hand gestures, failing to understand the full meaning of natural sign
language, which relies heavily on facial expressions and body language. Besides, these tools often have long delays and low accuracy in daily conversations.
In December 2025, a research team from Tsinghua University released a new AI system, SignLink, which has solved these long-standing problems with its groundbreaking multi-modal (多模态) recognition technology.
Unlike traditional tools that only track hand movements, SignLink uses a lightweight algorithm (算法) to capture and analyze hand gestures, facial expressions, and upper body movements at the same time. It can translate natural sign language into spoken and written Chinese in real time, with an accuracy rate of over 98%, even in noisy public environments.
In field tests, the system’s translation speed is 3 times faster than most similar products,
with a delay of less than 0.3 seconds — almost the same as normal face-to-face communication. It can also recognize regional differences in Chinese sign language, making it suitable for users
across the country.
At present, the system has been tested in 12 public service places in Beijing, including
hospitals, railway stations, and primary schools. It has also been built into a portable app, allowing deaf people to use it on their smartphones anytime and anywhere.
试卷第 8 页,共 15 页
“Technology should serve every group in society. Our goal is not just to make a technical breakthrough, but to break down the communication barrier between deaf and hearing people,
letting every voice be heard,” said the team leader, Professor Li Ming. “We will continue to optimize the system and add more language support in the future.”
32 .What is the main flaw of traditional tools
A .They are too expensive B .They have low accuracy
C .They are hard to carry around D .They only recognize fixed hand gestures
33 .What can we learn about SignLink
A .It is only used in Beijing
B .It works well in noisy places
C .It has a 3-second translation delay
D .It can only translate standard Chinese sign language
34 .What is Professor Li’s attitude to the system
A .Hopeful B .Critical C .Doubtful D .Uninterested
35 .What is the text mainly about
A .The life of deaf people in China
B .The development of global AI technology
C .A new AI sign language translation system
D .The problems of traditional translation tools

When we talk about sustainable living, most people think of expensive solar panels or
giving up car travel completely. ____36____. In fact, small, consistent changes in your daily
routine can make a huge difference to your carbon footprint over time. Here are some tiny habits that make sustainable living easy and enjoyable. 37
The easiest way to cut down waste is to reduce your use of single-use items. Instead of
buying bottled water, use a reusable water bottle. Bring your own cloth bags to the supermarket, and choose products with less packaging. These small swaps take almost no extra effort, but they
试卷第 9 页,共 15 页
can cut down hundreds of pieces of plastic waste every year.
Save energy without sacrificing comfort
Many people believe saving energy means turning off the heater in winter or the air
conditioner in summer. That’s not true. Simple moves like turning off lights and electronic devices when you leave a room, or using energy-efficient light bulbs, can reduce your home energy use by up to 30%. 38 .
Rethink your food waste
About one-third of the food produced globally is wasted every year. You can make a
difference with small changes in your kitchen. Plan your meals weekly to avoid over-buying, and use leftover food to make new dishes. 39 . You can compost fruit and vegetable scraps to make nutrient-rich soil for your garden, instead of throwing them away.
Buy secondhand when possible
Every new product we buy has a carbon cost from production and transportation. Buying secondhand clothes, furniture and books extends the life of these items, and saves you money at the same time. Many secondhand shops and online platforms make this easier than ever.
40 . Sustainable living doesn’t have to be hard or expensive. It starts with small, daily choices that add up over time. Every small step you take makes our planet a little greener.
A .Start with single-use items
B .These changes add up quickly
C .It’s easier than you might think
D .Even your fridge can be more energy-efficient
E .There are also easy ways to deal with food scraps
F .This makes many people feel it’s impossible for them to join in
G .You can also borrow or share items you only need for a short time

traditional art was too and out of date for young people like her.
That all last winter holiday. Stuck at home, Lin accidentally filmed her grandma
a piece of red paper into a lively rabbit with a few simple cuts. She posted the 15-second video online , not expecting it to get over 100,000 views overnight. Hundreds of young
people left comments, saying they had seen such amazing traditional art and wanted to learn it.
The unexpected made Lin rethink the value of paper-cutting. She decided to
the art from her grandma seriously. She not only mastered the basic skills, but also
new elements popular with young people, such as cartoon characters and festival themes, into her works.
She kept posting videos and even started live streams to paper-cutting skills. In just one year, she gained over 200,000 fans, and was as the youngest inheritor of the local
intangible cultural heritage. She also went to middle schools to give lessons, helping more teenagers fall in love with the art.
“Traditional art doesn’t have to be and far away from young people,” Lin said.
“ we give it a new form of expression, it can always attract the younger generation. It’s our to pass down these treasures and make them alive in the modern world.”

When our school announced the first Traditional Sports Festival, the most anticipated event was the dragon dance competition. My classmates set up a class team right away, and I signed up as a substitute. I’d learned basic dragon dance moves from my grandpa as a kid, but I gave up
soon, finding the endless strength and step training too boring. I never thought I’d actually step onto the competition field.
My grandpa was once the lead dragon head holder of our village’s professional dragon dance team, with over 40 years of experience. Before I entered high school, he gave me a mini

dragon head model, its handle wrapped with bright red silk. “Dragon dance isn’t just about
moves,” he told me. “It’s about your heart, your teamwork, and the inheritance of our culture.” I nodded politely back then, but I never truly understood his words.
Two days before the competition, disaster struck. Our lead dragon head holder, Xiao Ming, twisted his ankle badly during training. His foot swelled up so much that he couldn’t walk
normally, let alone hold the heavy dragon head. The whole team fell into panic. The competition was around the corner, and we had no backup for this critical role. Then the captain turned to me, and all my teammates’ eyes fixed on me. My mind went blank—I was just a substitute, with no
formal competition experience. I wanted to refuse, but the trust in their eyes, and the mini dragon head in my schoolbag, made me hesitate.
On competition day, Xiao Ming still couldn’t make it. The captain handed me the real,
heavy dragon head, with the same bright red silk tied to its handle. “We believe in you,” he said. My teammates gathered around, patting my shoulders and cheering me on. I held the dragon head tightly, feeling the rough wood and soft silk under my fingers, and took a deep breath.

W: Good morning, everyone. It’s time for our weekly health class. How many of you feel
tired all the time Raise your hands, please. Wow, there are a lot of hands! Doctors recommend

Paragraph 1:
I stepped onto the competition field with my teammates. Holding the heavy dragon head with its bright red silk, I calmed down the moment the familiar drumbeat rang out. I followed the
moves grandpa had taught me, moving in perfect sync with my teammates. I almost lost balance once while turning, but grandpa’s words about dancing with heart, not just strength, flashed
through my mind. I steadied myself quickly, focusing fully on every step and every beat.
Paragraph 2:
When the final drumbeat ended, cheers erupted around. My teammates rushed over, hugging me excitedly — we had won the first prize of the dragon dance competition! Holding the dragon
head tightly, I finally understood what grandpa had said about inheritance. It was not only about
passing down the traditional moves, but also about the courage to take responsibility and the
power of teamwork. That day, I truly grasped the soul of the dragon dance I’d once ignored.
