Copenhagen’s public transport
Public transport in Copenhagen is inexpensive and easy to use. Copenhagen is divided into zones (地区), and travel costs depend on how many zones you are travelling through.
Copenhagen Card
It gives you unlimited public transport in and around Copenhagen, plus free entry to over
80 museums and attractions. It is always digital and offers 24, 48, 72, 96 and 120-hour options (选择), costing from DKK 559 for adults, with discounts for children aged 12-15. One adult can bring up to two children under 12 for free.
City Pass
It is a digital travel ticket for unlimited public transport in Copenhagen zones 1-4 over a 24, 48, 72, 96 or 120-hour period, with adult prices starting at DKK 80. An adult can bring two
children under the age of 12 for free. Children aged 12-15 travel at half price.
Harbour Bus
The harbour bus runs in both directions from Teglholmen in the south to Refshale en in the north. These boats are operated by the same carrier as normal buses, and all ticket types are valid (有效的). It is a great way to see the city from the water and an efficient way to get from Nyhavn to Reffen in the summer. Since 2020, all harbour buses have run on green electricity.
Bike And Electric Scooter
It’s easy to rent a bike from a local bike shop, pick up a rental bike on the street, or rent an electric scooter through an app. You can take a bike on the metro (地铁), but not during rush

Attending a music festival alone is something most people haven’t tried. For some reason, it’s generally seen as a group activity. I’m here to tell you, attending a music festival alone can be a fun and fantastic experience. I’ve done it and you can, too!
I used to attend music festivals alone in my own backyard. Every year, Vancouver Island
Musicfest is held nearby, so that I can sit on my chair and when the wind is right, hear most of the music. It is nice but not the same as being there. Therefore, in 2022, when I heard that the famous blues musician Taj Mahal would be performing, I decided it was time to see him up close and in person. That weekend, I packed some supplies and entered a three-day world of music, dance, and freedom.
It was far better than my backyard! I wandered the grounds from stage to stage, checking out all the performers, kiosks, art, and the crowd. The best part about being alone was that I could do what I wanted, leave a spot when I got restless, or stay if I wanted to.
Going to a festival alone requires some planning. One key aspect of this is to figure out
what kind of experience you want to have. Do you want a big party or a more relaxed event Are you comfortable with large crowds Are you there for the music, the people, or the scene I found a great website, Music Festival Wizard, which lists hundreds of festivals around the world. You
can search for different options and find the ones that interest you. As someone who loves a variety of music styles, it makes it easy for me to find the places I enjoy most.
4 .Why did the author decide to attend Vancouver Island Musicfest in 2022
A .To meet up with her long-lost friends.

A .Touched and inspired. B .Happy and free.
C .Bored and lonely. D .Disappointed and shocked.
6 .What does the author suggest doing before attending music festivals
A .Ensuring your safety. B .Finding the right partner.
C .Comparing ticket prices. D .Knowing your preferences.
7 .What can be a suitable title for the text
A .The Scientific Benefits of Music Festivals
B .The Joy of Attending Music Festivals Alone
C .The Right Way to Enjoy Music Festivals Alone

Over the past few months, the Internet has seen Ariana Grande-Butera and Cynthia Erivo laugh together, cry together and sing together. Their chemistry, among other factors, is what has made “Wicked” a box office hit.
“Wicked” is divided into two parts, with the second movie, “Wicked: For Good,” released in November 2025. The film has been long-awaited by fans of the stage musical, which first
appeared on Broadway in 2003. And, as someone who saw the show for the first time in 2019, and saw the show again in San Francisco in 2024, I think I’m more than capable of reviewing the
movie.
Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba) and Ariana Grande (Glinda) give a very strong performance in the Ozdust Ballroom dance scene. Following the realization that she has been tricked by Glinda,
Elphaba steps into the center of the dance floor and begins dancing on her own. Erivo’s tears are
natural and unplanned in this scene. And, Grande’s wiping (擦) of Erivo’s tears is also unplanned. Chemistry like this cannot be practiced, and performances such as these require a level of personal openness that can build a deep friendship.
试卷第 5 页,共 13 页
The movie’s $ 150 million budget can be seen in its impressive set designs which hit the viewer as soon as the movie begins. The Emerald City is not the only thing that shines off the
screen, as the rolling fields of Munchkinland show off nine million tulips (郁金香) that were
planted specifically for the filming of the movie. Planting nine million tulips is an amazing thing in any situation. It shows how much hard work the director Jon M. Chu and the rest ofthe team put into making the movie.
Movies have more time to tell a story. Yet, the movie cut some scenes that most build
Elphaba and Glinda’s friendship. To viewers unfamiliar with the Broadway source material, this could lead to the movie feeling a bit disconnected.
But I truly believe the ‘Wicked’ movie will be remembered by fans of the stage production and movie-goers for years to come.
8 .What can be learnt about “Wicked: For Good”
A .It has failed to earn wide recognition.
B .It is based on a real-life story.
C .It is adapted from a musical.
D .It will be followed by two remakes.
9 .How does the author look at the ballroom dance scene
A .It is a result of long hard work.
B .It needs much acting experience.
C .It makes the movie more artistic.
D .It shows the actresses’ close connection.
10 .What does the author want to show by mentioning the tulips
A .The film’s very low costs. B .The film’s environmental impact.
C .The production team’s great effort. D .The director’s filming approaches.
11 .What does the underlined word “this” in paragraph 5 refer to
A .Cutting the scenes. B .Telling the stories. C .Limiting the time. D .Changing the stage.

Most adults cannot remember events from early childhood, a phenomenon (现象) known as infantile amnesia. This is true whether you ask a college student or a grandparent, suggesting
试卷第 6 页,共 13 页
adults’ lack of infant (婴儿) memories is not just the result of normal forgetting that happens with the passage of time.
There are two possible explanations for this. One is that the hippocampus, a brain area
important for memory, is too underdeveloped in infants to store long-term memories. Another is that the infant brain can store memories, but we finally cannot reach them. Recent studies in mice show that the hippocampus not only can store memories early in life but may keep them into
adulthood.
But what about humans A research team conducted fMRI studies with infants who were
wide awake — a method not tried before because it is hard to study babies who move a lot and are hard to stay focused. Since memory formation depends on wakeful experiences, through over 400 tries and a lot of help from families, the team developed new ways to keep infants calm and
interested.
In one key test, infants were shown photographs of faces, objects and settings one at a time during fMRI scanning. Soon after, their memory was checked by showing each of these known
photographs next to a new image of the same kind. When infants looked longer at the earlier seen photograph, researchers labeled (标记) it as remembered; or it was considered forgotten. Results showed greater hippocampal activity when infants saw images they remembered, especially in
those over 12 months old. These results suggest that the infant hippocampus can form memories from short experiences.
These findings support that early memories are stored but become hard to reach. Important questions remain: How long do these memories stay Could earlier memories be found again
Answering these could solve a long-standing scientific problem and help understand language
learning, developmental disorders, and memory loss. What’s your earliest memory Earlier ones may stay hidden in your brain.
12 .What do the underlined words in paragraph 1 refer to
A .Memory change with age. B .Lack of infant memories.
C .Normal forgetting over time. D .Unwillingness to remember events.
13 .What is the challenge in using fMRI to study infants’ memory
A .Getting enough family help. B .Applying a brand new technology.
C .Understanding memory formation. D .Keeping the attention of wakeful infants.

A .Memory improves greatly after age two.
B .Memories from babyhood can last for years.
C .Infants look longer at what they’ve forgotten.
D .Infants store memories they later fail to get back.
15 .Why are the important questions mentioned in the last paragraph

Multiculturalism (多元文化主义) is central to Australia’s identity, with more than half the population coming from overseas or having parents who did. Most Australians view
multiculturalism positively. ____16____ When surveyed in 2024, one in three migrants (移民) from non-English-speaking backgrounds reported dealing with discrimination (歧视) in the past 12 months.
17 They help bring different communities together and build understanding
across cultures. We studied two cultural festivals in Sydney, the Africultures Festival and the New Beginnings Festival, to see how they strengthened local communities.
The Africultures Festival, led by a passionate all-women African-Australian committee, has been held each year since 2009. 18 At this festival, visitors can eat traditional foods,
dance to African beats and join African drumming workshops. It allows African Australians to celebrate their cultural traditions and heritage. This helps strengthen their sense of belonging in Australia, allowing them to feel more “at home”.
The New Beginnings Festival is a multicultural event celebrating the creativity and cultural heritage of artists and communities from different backgrounds through music, dance, visual arts, crafts, and food. Attendees might come from different countries and cultural backgrounds.
19
We found that both festivals offer unique opportunities to the general public to learn about
试卷第 8 页,共 13 页
different cultures and traditions. And for those whose cultures are being celebrated, they offer
space to express one’s cultural identity and challenge negative stereotypes (刻板印象).
20 They are powerful tools for shaping a more inclusive Australia. By bringing people together to share their stories, food, music and traditions; these events help strengthen and connect communities.
A .Given these challenges, cultural festivals present a valuable opportunity.
B .Cultural festivals are more than just celebrations.
C .Cultural festivals create three levels of connection for migrant communities.
D .This event connects African communities with the broader Australian public.
E .It also encouraged many non-migrants to become open to different viewpoints.
F .However, they can connect over the shared journeys of adapting to life in Australia.
G .However, many feel ongoing discrimination and less connected to their communities.

“What is your name ” is a question most frequently asked when people meet for the first time. But for me, it was the first challenge I encountered as an international student in Ireland.
The pronunciation system of the Chinese language is quite different from that of English.
For native speakers of English, some Chinese words are rather difficult to pronounce. My given
name Qiuyu (秋雨), for instance, happened to be a great challenge for many of them. Every time I gave a self-introduction, I had to explain how to pronounce my name at least five times, yet they still could not say it the way I did.
Once in a lecture, the professor tried repeating my name after me over and over in front of thirty classmates. I really did not know whether I should continue correcting him or simply drop the matter. I feared that my classmates might grow tired of my efforts or even lose patience with me. After all, I did care about how others would think of me. I realized that if I didn’t stop, the
试卷第 12 页,共 13 页
entire lecture would be ruined. “It’s okay, professor,” I shrugged (耸肩). The awkward moment ended with the class erupting into laughter. I forced a smile, unsure how to respond further.
After that incident, I stopped acting as a “Chinese teacher.” Instead of correcting others
when they were struggling to pronounce my name, I just smiled and nodded approvingly. This
approach spared me the discomfort of having to over-explain. However, I soon found that by
doing so, I might be losing something more important: the opportunity to share a small part of my cultural identity.
