As my teacher called the students' names, I was sitting there. The students went to receive their report cards happily. I watched their faces with envy(嫉妒)and remembered my poor result the year before. Since then, I had worked hard, but I wasn't sure if I had made any progress.
I was too worried to hear my teacher call my name, and my classmate pushed me heavily. I tried my best to keep my cool and walked towards the teacher's desk. The desk was only two meters away, but it seemed to be a long way for me to go.
Time seemed to stop. My heart was beating fast and my hands were shaking badly when I received my report card. My teacher was saying something, but I was so nervous that I couldn't hear her. Soon, thunderous applause(雷鸣般的掌声)brought me out of the darkness, and I heard my teacher say, "Wonderful job!"
When I opened my report card, I discovered an "A" on it. I couldn't believe my eyes until I gave it a second look. Then all my fears disappeared. I felt like I was flying in the air. To have a good conversation is a pleasure for most people. But not every conversation is good. Some conversations are one-sided. One person asks all the questions, and the other just gives one-word answers. A good conversation needs two or more people to keep it going.
Start a conversation. Ask something about the other person. "Tell me about yourself." is a good start. Most people love a chance to talk about themselves. As the other person begins to talk, look for common ground. If you ask someone about his weekend, he could talk about what he did. Then you can share what you did.
Continue a conversation. When the other person is talking, listen carefully. It is not polite to cut in to add your experience. When they finish, ask some more questions. Don't look around when they talk. That will make others uncomfortable. Besides, if you're answering a question, don't go on and on. Give an answer and stop. Also, avoid yes/no questions. They can stop a conversation. Instead, ask open-ended questions using what or why.
End a conversation. A conversation should end well, too. You could say, "I need to run now", showing that you have to leave. You may also give a reason. For example, "I really need to go. My class will start in 20 minutes." Ending a conversation with a clear explanation makes both you and the other person feel good.
Now go out and enjoy a good conversation!

Around the world, people are more and more worried about the environment. Many people now prefer products and companies that care about the earth and cause less pollution. This need for green products has led large companies to change their business.
In the past, customers used cheap plastic bags, and then threw them away. But now most supermarkets and stores usually provide reusable shopping bags for them. This causes less waste. They also offer more local products, because less energy is needed for carrying them from one place to another.
To help lower air pollution, big car factories are looking for other ways to control the amount of oil. Cars that use much less oil are very popular. Many companies are also developing fully electric cars. They produce no air pollution at all. Both kinds of cars have another advantage: They are cheaper to run and people don't need to worry about oil prices.
Airline companies face an even greater green challenge. Airplanes use much more oil than cars. So many airlines are now developing planes that can run on some other kinds of oil. They create less pollution and cost less. The companies are also developing a new kind of planes, and some of them use only solar panels(太阳能板)to fly!
Green businesses used to be popular with only a small group of people. But now, more and more companies have to show they are concerned about the environment.
