Step 1, Warming up
Do you like travelling Have you been to New Zealand Now today, we are going to travel to New Zealand. Where is New Zealand Show the students the moving earth and seven continents on maps and give a brief introduction.
New Zealand is an island country in the South Pacific Ocean about 2,000 kilometers southeast of Australia. It is made up of 2 large islands and some small outlying islands. Its 2 large islands, the North Island and the South Island, are separated by Cook Strait. New Zealand has several large cities such as Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown. With fresh and clear air, its environment is almost not polluted. So you can find green grass and trees here and there. I’m sure you will have a good time today.

Before you read the text, let’s have a competition.
Task 1: How much do you know about New Zealand Let’s have a competition, the winners will get air tickets to Zhangjiajie, the teacher’s hometown .While the students are doing the task, show them some pictures and explanation.

1. I will divide you into groups, each group are asked to retell one paragraph. First you should work together to find some important and useful words ( key words) to help you, then you should report your paragraph to your partners and choose the best reporter to report it to the whole class.
2. After that, you are required to retell the whole text. You can refer to the following pictures and key words this time.

After that, I will introduce my hometown Zhangjiajie to you.

一.根据地图和提示, 写一篇介绍台湾的短文。词数,120左右。
1． 台湾的地理位置。
2． 台湾是我国最大的岛屿，面积36,000 平方公里，人口两千多万。主要城市有台北、台中、台南和基隆。
3． 自然资源丰富，香蕉、稻米、茶叶等农产品驰名中外。
4． 风景优美，气候宜人，世界各地的游客纷至沓来。
5． 台湾自古以来就是我国的一部分。岛内绝大多数居民来自福建、广东。海峡两岸人民都有统一祖国的强烈愿望。
