Module 1 Unit 1 Farm animals (The first period)
教学目标:1. Enable students to master the words: hen, chick, duck, cow, sheep, and pig.
2. Enable students to use the structure: “What do you see ” “I see…”
3. Enable students to do the actions while listening to the tape.
教学重点:1. Enable students to master the words: hen, chick, duck, cow, sheep, and pig.
2. Enable students to grasp “What do you see ” “I see…” in the real situation
教学难点:How to use the structure naturally.
教学准备:A cassette player, Picture Cards, Word cards, wallchart 2B
教学过程:
Pre-task Preparation

(b) T: The train is coming!
Ss: Wu…Wu…(通过开火车的形式来进行快速问答能激发学生学习兴趣并能复习巩固所学的知识)
T: What’s the weather like today S: It’s sunny.
T: Do you like sunny day S: Yes, I do.
T: How many people are there in your family S: There are three.
T: What’s your favorite food S: My favorite food is …
T: Who’s your best friend S: My best friend is …
T: Who’s my best friend Do you know Ss can guess.
T: Look, who is he S: He’s Uncle McDonald.
T: Yes. My best friend is Uncle McDonald. Say hello to him. (通过课件创设真实情景:与麦当劳叔叔问好。)
S: Hello, Uncle McDonald!
(模仿Uncle McDonald)T: Hello, boys and girls! I have a big farm. There are a lot of animals in the farm. Do you want to visit it
S: Yes.
T: OK. Let’s sing a song and go to visit the farm. sing a song “ Old McDonald ”。(课件播放歌曲。)
While-task Procedure
Activity1. Present the new words
Firstly,(进入主界面:农场。)T: Look, this is Uncle McDonald’s farm. It’s a big and beautiful farm! There are a lot of animals. Look, what animal is it
Ss :( No feedback)
T :( Ask one of Ss to stand up and teach him to read “chick”)
(注意学生发音,在平时教单词的时候就渗透字母组合的发音如这里的“ch”。) T write “ch” on the blackboard, Ss read after T “c-h-ch, ch ch ch, chick chick chick.
T holds up the picture card and asks Ss read it one by one/Group by Group. T do the action and make a rhyme:“Chick chick, I am a chick .Chick is lovely! I like chick!” All of Ss do the action and read after T. Then T asks Ss to close their eyes and try to spell the word from memory.
(Teach another new word like this and ask Ss to make a rhyme with the new word.)
Secondly, imitation
In this part T asks the Ss to imitate the words after the recorder. Ask them to pay more attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
Thirdly, a game.
(a) A game is used here to practice all the new words. Its name “Find your friend” Put the wallchart on the board and the word cards face down on the desk. Ask individual Ss to come up and choose a word card to put next to the appropriate animal on the wallchart. (From this game, I can know whether the Ss have mastered them or not.)
(b) Ss to do the actions while listening to the tape.
Activity2. Present the new sentence structures.
After the game, Ss look at the wallchart again. There are lots of animals.
T: What do you see (Write it on the blackboard)
(通过把单词see 画成一双眼睛的样子并用教师的body language让学生理解新句型)
T answer the question by herself “I see…” (Write it on the blackboard)
Then the Ss get it’s meaning and masters it quickly. Then Ss will read the structure one by one so that I can correct them if they made mistakes.
T: What do you see
S1: I see a duck.
T: Can you spell duck (对刚学知识的巩固复习)
S1: Yes. Duck duck d-u-c-k duck.
T: What do you see
S2: I see…
… (Work in pairs)
T: Now, I point to one of the animals and if you can see it, please stand up and say, “I see …”Ok
Ss: Ok!
T :( point to the animal)
Lots of Ss stand up and say this new structure loudly. (通过这种方式来激发学生说这个新句型的欲望)
After presentations I use the picture cards and get Ss to chant in groups looking at my gestures.
T: (Hold up the picture card)
Group1 and 2: What do you see
Group3 and 4: I see…
(Chanting together will help Ss strengthen their memory and it can make the Ss feel confident.)
Post-task activity
Memory game
Show Ss a picture of farm full of animals. Ss observe it for about ten seconds. Then the picture disappears. Let them have a competition. Ss practice with “What do you see ” “I see…”in groups. Let’s test who has the best memory.
(Proper competition can arouse Ss’ interest. Moreover it trains Ss’ spirit of cooperation and consciousness of competition. Most importantly, it trains Ss’ sense of loving life and animals and their ability of observation.)
Consolidation
T: 先给学生放一些动物的图片并配上音乐。
T: Do you like animals
Ss: Yes.
T: What animals do you like
S1, 2,3… I like…
T:(然后出现一些被人屠杀的国家保护动物,如elephant, tiger, bear…)让学生明白在农场上人们饲养的动物是可以吃的。但是有些动物是我们应该保护的,我们下节课会学到。这样不紧可以达到本堂课的一个情感目标,又能为下节课In the circus 做个铺垫。
Assignment:
(a) Listen and read Unit1 Farm animals (必做题)
(b) (任选其一)
Make a little book.
(T gives Ss an example. Ss can draw some animals on the little book and color it. Then write the name of animals. They can ask their friend “What do you see ”)
做一个东南西北。在上面画上不同的动物。
(两个人玩,一个人可以随便说翻几下“Give me one, two…”
另一个人就翻到那个数字,这时就会出现一种动物。然后一问一答“What do you see ” “I see…”)
(T can check whether Ss have consolidated the content through the feedback and it can make the poor Ss feel confident.)
