除“why”以外的特殊疑问词都可以和一个动词不定式连用,在句子中充当宾语或主语;
做主语的时候,谓语动词是单数;
做宾语的时候,它前面的动词常有:ask, decide, explain, find out, forget, hear, know, learn, remember, see, tell, understand 等。e.g.
I don’t know what to do.
We should decide which to do first.
Do you know how to solve the problem.

Complete the conversation with the correct ‘wh’ –words and ‘to’ –infinitives on page 45. Sentence types:
按使用目的,句子可分为陈述句、疑问句、祈使句和感叹句。
Statements 陈述句:说明一个事实或陈述一种看法。
e.g.
  Light travels faster than sound.(说明事实)
  The film is rather boring.(说明看法)
2. Questions 疑问句 :提出问题。有以下四种:
  a. General Questions:
    Can you finish the work in time?
  b. Wh-Questions:
    Where do you live? 
  c. Alternative Questions:
    Would you like some tea or coffee?
  d. Tag-Questions:
    He doesn't like the magazine, does he?
3. Imperatives:提出请求,建议或发出命令。
e.g.
  Don't talk at the meeting! 
4. Exclamations:表示说话人惊奇、喜悦、愤怒等情
绪。

  What a wonderful film it is!

1. 用于补充说明宾语,一般位于宾语之后,宾语
与宾语补足语构成复合宾语。
2. 接复合宾语的动词有:tell, let, help, teach,
ask, see, have, order, make 等。
3. “宾补”一般由不定式短语、分词、名词、形
容词等充当。e.g. We call him Simon.(名词)
His words made me happy.(形容词)
The teacher told me to sit here.(不定式短语)
They saw a girl dancing in the hall.(现在分词)

★ 有的动词后若用不定式作“宾补” ,需要省略 to。
这类动词有: make, let, see, hear, watch, notice,
listen to, look at 等。如:
1. I listened to them sing yesterday evening.
2. Li Ping made the baby laugh.

1. 主语 + 谓语:
The girl laughed.
His brother might have left.
注:这种结构中的谓语动词是不及物动词,状语并非结
构上不可缺少的成分。但有时不加状语不能表达完
整的意思,这就出现了下列句型:
※ 主语 + 谓语 + 状语:
The celebration lasted for two days.
We have walked for five minutes.
They live in Jiangsu.
They will fly to Dalian.2. 主语 + 谓语 + 宾语:
She is reading a story.
He is doing morning exercises.
This factory makes toy trains.
I have had my lunch.
注:这种结构中的谓语部分是及物动词加宾语,一般不
需状语即可表达完整的意思。但在某些情况下补充
状语,这就出现了下列句型:
※ 主语 + 谓语 + 宾语 + 状语:
He put the vase on the table.
Jim brought his coat home.
I’ll take Millie to the park.
They found him funny. 4. 主语 + 谓语 + 间接宾语 + 直接宾语:
She gave me a letter from my sister.
My father bought me a bike.
Pass me the salt, please.
这种结构中谓语动词一般限于双宾语及物动词,它们可以分为两类:
第一类:give, show, send, bring, offer, read, pass, lend, leave,
tell, hand, return, write, pay, throw, allow, wish, teach,
promise, owe, refuse 等。
第二类:make, buy, do, fetch, get, paint, play, save, reserve,
spare, order, cook, sing, find 等。3. 主语 + 系动词 + 表语:
The plan sounds good.
This skirt feels soft.
This is what I know.
The walls are white.注:间接宾语有时可以改成一个由 to 或 for 引导的短语:
I’ll return you the book tomorrow. → I’ll return the book
to you tomorrow.
My father bought me a bike. → My father bought a bike
for me.
※ 第一类可以改为由 to 引导的短语;第二类可以改为由 for 引
导的短语。
注:间接宾语用介词词组表示的场合:
a. 对间接宾语加以强调时:
I’ve bought it for you, not for myself.
b. 当直接宾语是一个人称代词时:
I’ll send it to you tomorrow.
c. 当直接宾语比间接宾语短时:
She showed the picture to the student sitting near
her. d. 当间接宾语置于句首时:
Who did you send it to?
To him I told the story, not to his brother.
e. 当间接宾语和直接宾语都是代词时:
He gave it to me.
I’ll lend them to you.5. 主语 + 谓语 + 宾语 + 宾语补足语:
We have known him well.
What makes you think so?
She found the child so lovely.
They called him a fool.
注:这种结构中的谓语动词一般只限于某些复合
宾语及物动词。Practice Millie does not know the sentence
structures very well.
