GONE are the days that an American teen would call up his classmates to see what they are doing on Friday night.Instead, he or she is increasingly likely to check online.
MySpace, the social networking(社交网络) website, is different from other websites which only provide stories about other people.MySpace is a place that allows you to broadcast your own stories and personal information to as many people as you like.Started two years ago, it is a big source of information for and about American kids.
Teenagers and their parents feel very differently about it.Teens are rushing to join the site, not sharing their parents' worries. It signals yet another generation gap in the digital era(数码时代).
For teenagers, it is a reliable network to keep in touch with their friends. They will often list their surnames, birthdays, after-school jobs, school clubs, hobbies and other personal information.
"MySpace is an easy way to reach just about everyone.I don't have all the phone numbers of my acquaintances(熟人).But if I want to get in touch with one of them, I could just leave them a message on MySpace," said Abby Van Wassen. She is a 16-year-old student at Woodland Hills High of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Parents on the other hand are seriously concerned about the security(安全) problems of MySpace.
"Every time we hold a parents meeting, the first question is always about MySpace," said Kent Gates, who travels the country doing Internet safety seminars(研讨会).The National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children has received at least 288 MySpace-related complaints(投诉), according to Mary Beth Buchanan, a lawyer in Pittsburgh.

B.Because troublemakers can easily contact their children through the site.
C.Because it takes up too much of their children’s spare time.

There are three branches of medicine. One is called “doctor medicine” or “scientific medicine”.Scientific doctors try to observe sickness, look for logical patterns, and then find out how the human body works. From there they figure out what treatment may work. This kind of medicine is believed to date from the 4th century BC.Although nowadays it is successful, in the ancient world this approach probably did not cure many patients.
A second kind of medicine is called “natural cures” or “folk medicine,” in which less educated people try to cure sickness with various herbs. These folk healers also use observation and logic, but they are not so aware of it.They try things until they find something that seems to work, and then they keep doing that.
Folk medicine flourished long before the development of scientific medicine and was more successful in ancient times than doctor medicine.
The third kind is called “health spas” or “faith healing”.Sometimes this may be as simple as touching the holy man and being immediately healed.Other times, a magician may make you a magic charm, or say a spell, to cure you. Some religious groups organize special healing shrines(places) for the sick.In these places people rest, get plenty of sleep, eat healthy food, drink water instead of wine, and exercise in various ways. They also talk to the priests and pray to the gods.If you are feeling sad or you have been working too hard, going to these places may be just the right thing to make you feel better.

A.describe different types of medicine
B.argue for the importance of medicine in health care
C.show the important role religious plays in medical treatments
D.compare the educational backgrounds of three different types of patients

ADAMA, 24, almost died making the journey from Burkina Faso in Africa to Spain.Because he was an illegal migrant(非法移民), he had to make the dangerous journey in a small boat which nearly sank.
He finally arrived in Madrid, Spain hoping for a better life, but his troubles didn't end there. He has found it difficult to get a job, and has often had to sleep on the streets.
"In my country, at least I was able to eat.I felt very miserable(悲惨的).But I kept fighting, because I had to make a life for myself," he said.
Adama is one of 191 million people who have left their birthplace for a new life in another country, according to a United Nations report published on September 6."State of the World Population" tells varied stories of people who leave home to look for a better life.
Most migrants move to wealthy nations, since they offer opportunities for higher wages(工资), better education and healthcare. In the report, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan emphasized(强调) the positive effects of migration.Migrants are often prepared to take jobs, which local people don't want to do such as cleaning and agricultural labour.
Migrants work very hard because many want to earn money to send back to their poor families. The report showed that money sent home by migrants totaled US$232 billion in 2005, more than twice the amount 10 years ago.India, China and Mexico benefit most.
Many migrants move to Europe, which has an ageing population and not enough young workers.Migrants help to fill gaps(差距) in the labour market and support older people in retirement.
But critics(批评家) of immigration say migrants are a threat to people's jobs. They claim migrants lower working standards because they are prepared to accept less money and fewer benefits. Many people fear too much immigration will destroy their traditional societies.
Other critics say Western countries should not encourage skilled workers to leave their homelands. It can lead to a shortage of skilled labour in less developed places like Africa, where there are now too few nurses to work in the hospitals.
"There is an urgent(紧急的)need for stronger co-operation between countries to make migration safe and fair," said Thoraya Ahmed Obaid, executive director of the United Nations Population Fund.

写作(总分30分)
One possible version:
Nowadays the government and people of China are trying to build a country with a harmonious relationship._Generally speaking, the relationship between us students and our family members and classmates as well as teachers is good. However, there exist some problems. Some students in our grade are easy to lose their temper because of anxiety and study burden. What’s worse, they sometimes quarrel with others, and even turn a deaf ear to their parents and teachers, which is very disappointing.
In my opinion, we middle school students should make our efforts to improve the situation.First, we should respect our parents and teachers as well as our classmates.Second, when we are not feeling good/happy, we can chat with our friends or teachers or even parents. It is likely that they can understand us better and give us some reasonable advice.Third, after a day’s hard work, we can relax ourselves by taking some exercise, such as playing basketball, table tennis and so on.
答题要点:
1.高三学生与家庭成员和班级同学老师之间的关系处理目前的实际情况:好的方面和不够的方面(问题);
2.你个人的改进意见(至少两条)。(答两条即可)
3.书面整洁2分。
