Summer Games--- running races, horse riding, wrestling and many more events.
Winter Games--- skiing, ice skating.
3 What kinds of countries and people could take part in the ancient Olympic Games ? Is it the same in modern times?4 Does anyone want to host the Olympic Games? Why?
Everyone wants to host the Olympic Games for it is a great honour.
All kinds of countries can take part in if their athletes reach the standard to be admitted to the games, including women.
Only cities in Greek could take part in the OG, no other country could join in. Only men in Greek could join in, nor could slaves or women.
5 What was given for the winner in ancient Olympic Games ?How about the modern times?
6 What do people complete for in modern times? The olive wreath was given to the winner in ancient Olympic Games and medal has replaced the olive wreath in modern times.For honour, for their country, for being able to run faster, jump higher and throw further.Homework 1 Go over the text after class.
