flu virus.艾滋病的起源 20世纪下半叶，大约是在70年代末期，医生们开始碰到一些奇怪的病例，这些病人尽管曾是十分健康的，但患病后全身的免疫系统几乎完全崩溃，所有的医疗手段也不能挽救他们的生命。 在1980年10月到1981年5月期间，先后发现5例病例，患者均为男性同性恋者。 艾滋病的英文简称为AIDS，国内1986年以前音译为“爱滋病”，后来考虑到该命名会引起人们的误解，以为此病只是通过性途径传播而忽视了其他传播途径，故改名为“艾滋病”。 全球艾滋病感染者达4200万 一天夺命8000 ,过去的2003年里，全球有300万人死于艾滋病，另有500万人新感染上艾滋病 .据联合国儿童基金会提供的资料显示，2002年非洲大约有200万成年人死于艾滋病。到2002年底，非洲有2900万艾滋病感染者和患者，其中近1000万人为15岁至24岁的青少年，近300万人是不足15岁的儿童。 亚洲则是艾滋病泛滥的第二大陆，艾滋病病毒感染者人数已达到740万，其中100多万为近一年来新增病例，死亡50万人。印度的状况相对严重，新增病例达30万，病毒感染者有300多万。
