Step II Speaking

Step III Preparation for Listening
We've talked much about art and architecture. And we also designed our own dream houses. Now, imagine that you're moving into your new house, but you need to buy some furniture. What kind of furniture would you like to buy and why do you prefer them Have a short discussion in pairs, please.
(Allow the students a few minutes to prepare for the dialogue and ask one or two pairs to act out if time permits.)
Step IV Listening
Do some listen ing practice. This is a talk be tween Amy and Danny. Listen carefully and finish the exerci ses by yourself first and then check your answers with your partner. Step III Reading and Understanding
Teacher teaches the students to read the new words in this period. Then students read the words by themselves for a moment. At last, ask some students to read the words.

Look at the Pas sage "A Second Life for Factory 798".
Who can tell us the meaning of the title
It means “798工厂的第二次生命”.
Read the passage quickly to find out what has happened to Factory 798. (After a few minutes. )
The Factory 798 had been an important army factory. Later the fac tory moved away and the factory build ings were no longer used. Most of the workshops in it stood empty until very recently. The workshops are now used for different purposes. So we can say Factory 798 has got its second life.
Now, please read the passage carefully again and tell us something else about Factory 798.
It was designed by East German archi tects and built with Russian aid in the early 1950s.
