In desert regions at certain times of the year, sandstorms become more frequent because the strong heating of the air over the desert causes the lower atmosphere to become unstable. This instability mixes higher winds in the middle troposphere downward, producing stronger winds at the surface. In the United States, these events are often referred to as "dust storms". Work in pairs to prepare an interview .one of the
two partners acts as an interviewer,And the other
is walking or driving in the sanstorm. You may begin like this :What’s your opinion of the sandstorm? It’s terrible!Damage of sandstorms1. Sandstorms can pollute the atmosphere and carry away top soil. When the top soil is carried away, on which plants grow, land becomes barren, yielding much less.
2. Also the breaking out of sandstorms brings more solid pollutants into the atmosphere and damages the environment.
3. Even sandstorms can kill people and animals and pull down buildings. In fact, sandstorms cause as much damage as typhoons and hurricanes.
