Step 1: greetings and warming up:
①greet firstly
T: Good morning, boys and girls! Today we are very lucky to have so many teachers coming to our English class. Are you happy
S: Yes.
T:I am happy, too. So let’s sing a melody song to show our warm welcome to our dear teachers. OK
S:OK.
T: Very good .Are you ready Let’s start!
②do some warming up:
(Hold a book)
T: What’s this in English
Ss: It’s an English book.
T: Yes, it’s an English book. And what are they in English
Ss: They are English books.
T: Yes, very good.
(Pick up two students’ pencil case)
T: Excuse me, what’s this in English
S1: It’s a pencil case.
T: what’re they in English
S1: They’re pencil cases.
T: Yes, they’re pencil cases. Thank you.
T: Now I want to ask some pairs to do some practice for us using the drills we’ve learnt in the last units.
How to greet your classmates and how to ask questions .
Are there any volunteers You can stand up directly.
Yes, very good.
Step 2: learn the new words:
T: Now I want to classify you into two groups. Boys are group A and girls are group B.OK
Now let’s look at the big screen and answer “what’s this in English ”. Let’s see which group is the winner, ok
Now are you ready
S: Yes.
T: OK. Let’s start.
(Show the first picture “table” and ask them to answer)
S l: Yes, it’s a table. Now read after me t-a-b-l-e, table.
(Teach them the other words in the same way )
(The whole class read after me twice. Then ask boys to read. Then ask girls to read.)
Step 3: Finish part 1a
T: Look at this big room .Is it very nice I think it must be very nice and comfortable. Here are so much furniture for our daily life use.
Now please turn to page 19 and you also can see a same picture just like this one. Right now, please pick up your pens and try your best to finish part 1a.
Do it as quickly as possible, start!
After a few minutes
T: Have you finished Let’s check our answers. Who can give us your answers Please stand up!
T: OK, very good! Let’s see our answers. Do you have the same answers to them
Step 4: Listening part:
T: In the picture, we can see five boxes, yes Now let’s listen to the tape carefully and number the things in the picture with 1 to 5 .
Write number 1 in the box next to the first item mentioned .Do you understand
(play the recording the first time and Ss do it)

(Boys read A and girls B)
Step 5: Learn the drills: where is the ……
①( Point to the picture and ask Ss to answer)
T: What’s this in English
S: It’s a table.
T: And what’s this in English
S: It’s a clock
T: So my following question is “where is the clock ”
S: It’s on the table.
②do some practice to be familiar with this drill
(use the girl in/ on / under the box)
Step 6:Learn the drill: where are the……
①( Ponit to the picture and ask Ss to answer)
T: What’s this in English
S: It’s a desk.
T: What’re these in English
S: They’re plants.
T: So my following question is “where are the plants ”
S: They are under the desk.
(Give them some examples and ask them to read after me)
②do some practice to be familiar with this drill
Step: Ask Ss to practice these drills using their school things and give them some guides
When they practice, go around the classroom giving some help if necessary.
Ask some pairs to act their dialogues out.
Step 7:Strengthen:
Give them a picture .Ask them to make their own conversation according to the picture.
Step 8:Task time:
T: Let’s look at Tommy’s room again. Do you think it is very tidy
S: No.
T: Me too. So why not rearrange Tommy’s room Now you will be divided into several groups.
Every four Ss can be a group. Let’s think it over to make the room more tidy. For example, in the picture,
The baseball is under the table. Shall we put it in the drawer Firstly, you should fill the following form and
then a passage to make a report. For example:
The books are on the sofa. We put them in the bookcase. The backpack is under the table and we put it on the desk……

Oral work: Make some conversations using “where’s the ……?It’s in /on /under the ……”;
“where’re the……?They’re on/in/under the……”
Written work: Page 19 of Exercise A and B
Draw a picture of your own or a similar one. The room should include all the words that we have learnt today.
Write a passage about the room .For example:
This is my room. The hat is on the ……The picture is on the wall……
