What does a scientist do
One way to explain what a scientist does is to begin with the things you do. Look at some of the things you did in the past month and see what you and the scientist Have in common．
Have you tried to find out something that you didn't know before One thing you may have done was to find out what your friend's phone number was or what was shown on TV or when a film began．Perhaps you found out how to work out a math s problem．In a word，you found out something you had not known before．
Scientists do the same thing：they find out things they didn't know before．But they go one step further．They
sometimes find out things no one else knew before．They
do，if they carry their research work far enough．
Have you ever made a mistake and corrected it Per-haps the mistake was in a math s problem，or in a piece of information．Scientists often do the same，too．
You do a great many things scientists do．But you are not a scientist at least not yet．Study harder and learn more，and Perhaps you will be a scientist in the future．
