Step1. Greeting:
T: Now it’s time to have class. Hello, students.
Step2. Warm up:
T: How many members do you have in your family
T: Can you tell me how to call them in Chinese But do you tell me how to call them and introduce them to other people in English
T: Today we will learn how to call them and introduce them.
Step3. New content:
New words: father, mother, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, grandfather, grandmother, grandparent, parent, friend
a) T: (take out a photo of my family, point the people on the picture and say) This is my mother, this is my father, this is my sister… (and write down these names of family members on the blackboard)
b) Learn these new words
look at the blackboard and read these new words loudly following me, and then repeat each other
c) Introduce own family using these new words
T: (chose one student) Can you introduce your family using these words
And then other students repeat .
d) Exercises: 1b & 2a
e) Pair work
1. Divide into ten groups, and let them talk about family members of Dave’s family in the picture, and then choose several groups to show.
2. Let students talk about their own family members each other.
f) Listening
1. T: Turn to page32 and look at 2a. Let’s look at the words, listen to the tape and circle the words you hear.
2. T: Listen again and match the names with the people in the picture.
3. Check up the answers.
g) Pair work
1. exercise 2c
Look at and point the pictures, and ask other persons in groups.
A: Is this Mary’s sister
B: Yes, it is.\No, it isn’t. She is Tom’s sister.
2.According to the sentence structures we have learned and these new words, every group prepare a game, and then choose several groups to show before the class.
Step4. Sum up:
a) T: (choose several students) Can you tell me what you have learned from this class
b) Repeat the new words and sentences.
Step5. Homework:
Write a composition to introduce your family members and your friends.
