Step1 Revision
Review the knowledge in unit5.
T: What’s this in English Do you have a ….
Step2 Presentation
Ask: What’s this in English (Answer: It’s an apple.)
Do you like apples Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
1.Show some pictures or objects of food to teach the new words.
apple, pear, strawberry, egg, parrots, tomato, hamburger, salad, chicken, French fries, broccoli, ice cream, etc.
2. Pay attention to the plural forms of these new words.
Step3 Match
SB P31 Activity 1a. Match the words with the things in the picture. Then check the answer.
Step4 Guessing game What’s this
Step5 Presentation
Talk about the students likes and dislikes. Model these questions and answers.
T: Do you like salad
S: Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
T: Does he/she like hamburgers
S: Yes, he/she does. No, he/she doesn’t.
The teacher can help the students to answer if they have any difficulties. Write the sentence patterns on the blackboard.
Step6 Pairwork
Students practice asking and answering questions and answers above.

Step8 Report
Model: Tom likes …. He doesn’t like ….
Step9 Listening practice
1. SB Page31. Activity1b. Listen and number the conversations. Check the answer. Listen again, let the students repeat after the tape.
