Step 1. Revision
Ask and answer :Talk about the movies.
Do you like thrillers
No, I don’t. They’re scary.
Do you like action movies
Yes, I do. They’re exciting.
What kind of movies do you like
I like documentaries.
I don’t like Beijing opera because they’re boring.
Step 2. Presentation
Ask a student to tell what they see in each picture. Guide them to understand that each picture shows a different class in school.
Then ask some students :
What’s your favorite subject
My favorite subject is English. /Chinese./Maths/history/art/music/P.E./biology/politics/handwriting/
Geography/computer.
Encourage the students to answer the questions and repeat . Write the vocabulary on the Bb and ask the students to repeat.
Then ask the students to match the words with the pictures.
Then check the answers.
Step 3.Listening 1b
This activity provides practice in recognizing the target language in spoken conversation.
First, listen carefully and circle the subjects the Ss hear. Then check the answers . Then read the conversations.
Step 4. Pairwork
Practice the conversations in pairs. Make sure the students can say the words and phrases correctly.
Then repeat the words again.
Step 5. Write your own conversations.
Write six conversations with the words and the target language.

Now talk about your favorite subject.
Step 2. Listening and repeat
This activity provides practice in recognizing the target language in spoken conversation.
Ask the students to read the conversations to the class, and ask others to repeat these words.
You will hear the conversations and put the conversations in right order.
Students will give the answers.
Step 3.Pairwork This activity provides practice in listening for and writing the target language.
Task 1.Read the subjects and the description words in the box aloud .
Task 2. Play the recording .Students listen and match the subjects and the description words. Then check the answers.
Task 3. What do you think Match the subjects with the description words.
Step 3.Groupwork
Task 1:Practice the conversation above.
Task 2:Then make your own conversations.
Step 4. Grammar Focus
Review the Grammar box .Ask the students to say the questions and the answers.
On the board write in list form:

Ask the students to complete the chart with your parents’ favorite things, then talk about how well you know your parents.
Ask the students to take turns to tell what their parents’ favorite things are.
