Teaching Procedures For Unit 7 How do you make a banana milk shake
Step 1:Warming-up exercise and revision:
1. Greetings:
T: Hello , boys and girls!
I’m very glad to be here with you . And I’m also very happy that I can be your friends. I’m a little busy these days. But my friend Katie is much busier. What’s she doing
2. T: She’s learning to cook. She wants to cook for her family. How can she do it First she learnt to make a banana milk shake from her friend. Now she can make all kinds of milk shakes. Today is Saturday , she’s making an orange milk shake. But she forgets some steps .How dose she make it Can you help her ( let Ss answer one by one )
S: 1.Peel four oranges.
2.Cut up the oranges.
3.Put the oranges and ice cream into the blender.
4.Pour the milk into the blender.
5.Turn on the blender.
3.T: Oh , grest ! I really want to drink it .It must taste nice. What else has she learnt
She also learnt to make fruit salad from her mother. Now she begins to make fruit salad. Let’s
make fruit salad with Katie. Here’s a basket of fruit. You can pick out some fruit from the basket.( let the student ask one by one.)Work in groups.
S1: How many bananas do we need
S2: We need three bananas. How many apples do we need
S3 : We need three apples. How many oranges do we need
S4 : We need only one orange. How many watermelons do we need
S1: We need only one watermelon . How much honey do we need
S: We need two teaspoons of honey. How much yogurt do we need
S: We need one cup of yogurt. How do we make fruit salad
Then choose one student to tell us how we make fruit salad.( banana, apple ,strawberry, pear, orange, lemon, grapes, kiwi fruit, melons)
S: First peel three bananas ,three pears ,and two oranges. Next cut up the strawberries ,
watermelons, bananas, pears and oranges. Then put in tow teaspoons of honey and a cup of
yogurt. Finally mix it all up.
Step 2 . Presentation:
1.T: Oh, How nice the fruit salad looks ! Do you like it I think Katie’s mother will like it ,too. Now Katie is a little tired. She wants to have a rest. So she sits on the sofa and read a book about making sandwiches. Because chicken sandwich is her favorite.
In the sandwich book, there’s a recipe for a super chicken sandwich. Let’s see what’s in the super chicken sandwich. (show the pictures) let the students answer one by one.
T: OK, you all did a very good job. Now let’s read the recipe. All right, what’s in the super chicken sandwich There are some vegetables, meat and other ingredients. Please write the ingredients in the chart. ( check the answer)
2. T: Nice work! Katie’s favorite sandwich is chicken sandwich. What’s your favorite sandwich
Pairwork: Tell your partner how to make make your favourite sandwich.
(beef sandwich ,pork sandwich, turkey sandwich, fish sandwich…)
A: First put some relish on a slice of bread.
B: How much relish
A: About a teaspoon.
B: Then …
A: How many / much …
Step3. Practice:
1. T: Nice work! Now, let’s make a sandwich. Listen carefully.
First, put the butter on a slice of bread.
Then cut up a tomato. Add it to the bread.
Next put some lettuce and chicken slices on the bread.
Put the relish on the chicken .
Finally put another slice of bread on the top.
T: Boys , what’s your favorite sandwich Ok, let’s make a beef sandwich.
Girls, What’s your favorite sandwich OK, Let’s make a turkey sandwich.
(let the students do with me) Well done!
Step4: Consolidation:
1. Here’s a recipe for a great turkey sandwich. Please fill in the blanks.
8.Crazy Sandwiches Work in pairs. Student A look at page 83. Student B look at page 81. Tell your
Partner how to make a sandwich with the ingredients in your list. Listen and draw the sandwich your partner describes.(Then let the students show their sandwiches.)
2.T: Now I think Katie can make many kinds of sandwiches ,too. She’s very happy . But her father’s favorite food is hamburger. How does she make a hamburger. Don’t worry. She turns on the video. She can learn it on TV. ( Watch the video)
T: Now can you make a hamburger ( let one student make a hamburger) So it is a very good way to learning to cook on TV.
Step5: Homework:
1.T: This month ,KFC is offering two kinds of new food. Please tell me the recipe for a hot dog and bean salad.
2. Write a recipe for you favorite food and read it to your partner.
3. Make a survey. Ask your parents or friends what is their favorite food .Then cook for them.
