Step 1 Warming up
1. Sing a song: If you are happy
2. Teach “ milk shake”
When people are happy, they like to drink wine. What do you like to drink when you are happy Ask some students to say some drinks. And teach “ milk shake”
3. Where can we drink or buy milk shake McDonald’s. We can drink milk shake at home too.
We can make a milk shake at home. Today I’m going to teach you how to make a banana milk shake.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Welcome to Miss Wu’s Cooking Show. What do we need to make a banana milk shake Ask the students to look at the teacher’s desk and name the things on the desk. Teach new words: plate, blender, teaspoon, yogurt.
2. Bananas, milk, ice cream are ingredients. Teach “ingredient”
How many bananas / milk / ice cream do we need
Three, a box , two teaspoons ----- amount , teach “ amount”
3. Everything is ready. Let’s make a banana milk shake. Ask the students look carefully and make the banana milk shake step by step. Ask one student to write the verbs on the blackboard when I am making the milk shake.
First peel 3 bananas. How do you spell “peel” Chant: Peel, peel, peel the bananas.
Next cut up the bananas. Chant: “Cut, cut , cut up the bananas.”
Then put the bananas and ice cream into the blender.
And pour the milk into the blender. Chant: “ Pour, pour , pour the milk.”
After that, turn on the blender. Chant: “turn on the blender, turn on the TV, turn on the computer”
After 2 seconds, turn off the blender. Chant: “turn off the blender, turn off the TV, turn off the computer”
Finally, drink the milk shake.
Ask a student to taste the milk shake.
4. Chant together. Ask the students to look at the pictures and describe the process .
5. So you can make a banana milk shake. Can you fill in the blanks Fill in the blanks in Activity 1a.
6. Put the instructions into correct order. Teach “ instruction”
Step 3 Practice
1. But not all the people like the banana milk shake. Let’s make other kinds of milk shake. Make a conversation with your partner.

2. Game Time:
It’s time for playing games. Simon says.
3. Make fruit salad.
Welcome back to Miss Wu’s cooking show. Next let’s make fruit salad. Fill in the blanks.
What ingredients do we need to make fruit salad
This is a fruit recipe. Teach “recipe”.
4. Write a recipe for soup, salad or juice. Choose some from the following things: tomatoes, cucumbers, eggs, water, strawberries, honey, yogurt, relish.
Discuss in group of four. Then write down the recipe.
5. ask one student to make a report.
Eg. We want to make salad. We need …. First ….
