另外,该句型后可跟虚拟语气:
It looks/seems as if it were winter already. look作系动词,后跟介词,例如:look like
It looks like salt but it isn’t salt.
It looks like being a fine day.
He looks like his father.
look作系动词,后跟形容词:
He looks younger for his age.
She looks very tired.
Mary came in, she was looking pale and worried.
2、not +adj/adv +enough (for sb) to do sth
表示“不够…….,(一致)不能…….”
He is not old enough to go to school.
The coat is not large enough for you to wear.
The book is not easy enough for him to read.
She didn’t run fast enough to catch you.
这个句型的意思相当于“too+adj/adv +to do sth” ,
“太……而不能”
He is too young to go to school.
The coat is too small for you to wear.
The book is too difficult for him to read.
She ran too slowly to catch you.enough当表示程度的副词,置于形容词,副词之后,
亦置于过去分词和做形容词用的名词之后.
The meat is not cooked enough.
I was fool enough to believe her.
enough当形容词,修饰名词时,可放在名词前也可放在
名词后。
There is enough food /food enough for everyone.
enough 也可用做名词,例如:
---Would you like some eggs?
---Thanks, I have had enough
It seems that there is a big waste pipe coming
down from the town.3. It seems that-clause 是一个表示猜测或判断的
句型,作“看来……”解。这个句型中seem=appear
It seems that no one is against the plan.
It seemed that life for her was rather hard
It seems that everything is ready for the travel.
另外,作系动词时seem,appear可接不定式的
三种形式:
She appeared/seemed to be friendly to us.
He seemed/appeared to be talking to himself.
You seemed/appeared to have traveled a lot.
4. No matter how much you want to bathe, it just isn’t safe.
不管你多么想洗海水澡,但那实在是不安全呀.句中no matter 这个词组意为“不管”,“无论”,常
与疑问词who、 where、 what、 when、 how
等连用,引导让步状语从句.
No matter how late he goes to bed, he always
gets up early.
No matter who knocks, don’t open the door.
No matter what she says, I won’t believe her.
No matter where you go, I’ll go with you.
5. I suppose it’s better to be safe than sick.
复习 think/believe/expect/suppose 的用法,当主语为第一人称,时态为一般现在时时:
1)宾语从句为否定句时,要转移到主句上否定:
I think he will come to the party tonight.(否定句)
I don’t think he will come to the party tonight.
2)借助从句中的系动词、助动词、情态动词构成反意
疑问句:
I believe/suppose it is necessary for a student to master
a foreign language, isn't it?
3)将疑问词放在句首,再加 do you think/suppose/believe
然后再加其余的成分构成特殊疑问句:
What do you suppose his father is?
What/Which do you think the right answer is?
Why do you suppose he is so upset?
Who do you believe will win the game?
