数字也是高考英语听力测试中常见考点。其内容主要包括年代，价格，费用，年龄，速度，电话号码，人(物)的数量或重量，距离的远近，房间号码，街道或门牌号码，航班等。这类试题常用以测试考生对序数词，基数词，分数，小数，倍数，百分比，货币名称，价格的掌握情况，因此试题中常出现与数字有关的常用词，如：couple，dozen，twice，daily，half， monthly，in 2001以及fifty，fifteen之类的读音干扰。数字类题可分为辨别型和计算型两种。

辨别型亦称直接型，即答案在录音中直接给出，而书面选择项排列出几个与录音信息中近音，近形的数字，用以混淆视听，迷惑考生，以考查考生对数字的辨音、辨形能力。计算类是指录音信息中至少出现两个数字，考生不仅要听清这些数字概念，而且要搞清楚它们之间的关系，用到简单的加减乘除运算，通过快速心算来确定答案。
