They have an unknown cause and may do great harm to people.People could be exposed to infectious diseases, so may animals, such as bird flu.AIDS, SARS are infectious diseases. They are difficult to cure.There is a disease!That’s cholera!Bacteria of choleraCholera is a kind of terrible disease caused by drinking dirty water and it caused a lot of deaths in the old times and it was very difficult to defeat.But John Snow, a well-known doctor in the 19th century in London, defeated “King Cholera”.
He was born and worked as a doctor in Great Britain. He was originally an anesthetist(麻醉师).He was so famous that he became the doctor for Queen Victoria at the births of her many children and more importantly , “ Father of epidemiologist (流行病）”.
