3 periods.
Period 1
Content: Section A
Properties: Recorder, Overhead projector, flashcards. Teaching Objectives.
1.Let the students master colors and clothes.
2.Learn how to ask the prices.
3.Useful expression.
Language Focus: socks, T-shirt, shorts, sweater, bag, hat, pants, shoes, black, white, red, green, blue, yellow, big, short, long, dollar, color.
How much is/are……
Teaching procedures:
Ⅰ.Showing the teaching aims.
Ⅱ.Revision
Revise the numbers, between 1and 10.
Ⅲ.Leading in.
Ask: Have you gone shopping Then say: There is a store. There are many nice clothes in it. Let’s have a look!
Ⅳ.Presentation.
1.Use flashcards on the screen to teach new words.
2.Then act out a shopping dialogue in a store, play the roles of both customers and the salesperson. Let Ss practice the similar dialogue. Then act it out.
Ⅴ. Drill.
Part 1 b Play the tape for the students.
1. Point to the items of clothing in the instruction and ask students to name each other.
2. Listen to the conversation and circle the clothing items in the pictures.
3. Correct the answers.
Ⅵ.Practice
1. Show a conversation about shopping. Then act it out in pairs. Let Ss make dialogues freely.
2. Finish 3a then check the answers.
Ⅶ.The memory game.
If there is time, play the game in class.
Period 2
一、Teaching aims and demands:
1. The numbers in English.
2. Writing an ad for your own shop.
二、Teaching properties:
Overhead objects, Tapes, Some Cards with numbers on them.
三、Language Focus:
1. The numbers ten through thirty-one
2. Talking about the prices.
四、Teaching Steps:
Step 1: Greetings
Greetings to the Students.
Step 2: Revision
1.Show some objects with price tags. Ask students to work in pairs like this:
A: How much are the blue pants
B: They are $8
2.Show more clothes the price above ten.
Point out the numbers ten through ninety.
Step 3: Listening and practicing
1.Listen to the tape of la. First time, just listen, then play it several times and ask Students to repeat.
2.Ask Students to make some cards with numbers, then work in pairs.
3.Listen to 2a. Listen and Circle the numbers in la that you hear.
4.Look at lb. Ask a Students to read the words, the others write a number from the box next to the Correct words below, then find out which two rows of numbers are in the wrong place.
5. Watch the video, pay attention to the numbers.
Step 4: Exercise in class
1. Listen and fill. Listen to a dialogue and fill in the blanks.
M: Oh, look. I like that

How much is it
L: dollars. Oh, look. I like

M: Oh, no. I don’t like red.
L: Do you like this
M: Mmm, yes. I do, but it’s dollars.

L: Oh, How much is the green sweater.
M: It’s dollars. But you have a green sweater.

M: Only dollars.

L: Ok, I’ll take those.
2.Pairwork. Ask and answer questions about the clothes in the picture of 2b.
Step 5: Reading
1.Read 3a. Ask Students to read the passage alone several times, then say the main idea and fill in the price tags.
2. Explain the language points in the passage.
Step 6: Homework
Ask Students to write an ad for their own shop.
Period 3
Teaching aims:
·Practice the important knowledge of this unit.
·Improve the students’ ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Language Focus:
·Asking about prices.
·Talking about clothing.
·Thanking someone.
Teaching Steps:
Step1: Make a survey.
(1) Leading:
Teacher :I see you are wearing different brands of shoes. Do you know much they are Well, Let’s do a survey by asking : How much are your shoes
(2) Let the students do a survey.
(3) Then fill in the chart.
(4) Ask several students to tell the result to the class.
Step2: Complete the part 3 of self-check,
(1) Get the students to read the passage.
(2) Fill in the price tags on their owns.
(3) Check the answers.
Step3 :模拟购物
(1) Let the students look at the big screen.
(2) Let the students imagine that they go shopping in the store. A student is a clerk, her /his partner is a customer. Practice in pairs.
A: Can I help you
B: Yes, please. I want……
A: what color do you want
B: ……
A: Here you are.
B: How much……
A: ……
B: I’ll take it/them. Thank you.
A: You’re welcome.
(3) Give the charts to the students.
Let them complete the charts.
Clothes you bought color price
(4) Ask several students to tell the result to the class like this:
I buy a …… T-shirt. The T-shirt is ¥……
Step4: 讨论运动会的着装
(1) Leading:
Teacher: We’re going to have a sports meet. What kind of clothes do you want to wear And how about the colors and the price And in which store do you want to buy them
(2) 以小组为单位进行讨论,提供大商场的服装价格表,供学生讨论使用。
(3) 每个人发表自己的观点,如喜欢什么样式的,什么颜色的,买少少价钱的合适,到哪儿买划算等等。学生也可提出他们认为能买到既便宜又质量好的衣服的商店。
(4) 每个人发表自己的观点后,大家应讨论哪个意见比较可行,再确定到哪儿去买。
(5) 每个小组选一人向全班汇报,然后再由全班决定服装的式样,价格和购买地点。
(6) 自己可拟定一个购买计划(如没有时间,可作为课外活动),完成任务所需要的语言结构:
1. I don’t like my school uniform(校服). I like……
2. Do you like sweaters These sweaters are for boys. They’re only 20 yuan.
3. These kinds of red/green/white T-shirts……are in fashion.
4. The clothes in Wuxing Clothes City are in good price.
