二、文化背景、交际策略
1. 描述人的外貌、身高、体重、发型、面部特征及着装特点。常用的句型有
--- What does he look like 他长得怎么样？
---He has a medium build. 他中等身材。
常见的回答还有：He has long/curly hair. He has a medium build/height. He’s tall/short. He is thin/fat. He’s a little bit heavy.
2．简单地表达自己的观点或好恶，我们常用I think 和I don’t think .
例如：I think I know her. 我想我认识她。I don’t think he’s so great.我认为他这样不好。
注意I think 和I don’t think的用法。
三、学法指导
1． 本单元主要是让我们了解如何描述人的外貌、身高、体重、发型、面部特征及着装特点。同学们要积极主动参与决定教学内容，力图使自己输入成为主要教学内容资源，并成为整个学习过程的中心。Brainstorm(头脑风暴)即学生在学习之前根据课题搜集、整理与课题相关人物
外表信息。（身高、身材、头发颜色，长度及发型、脸部特征、着装、性格表达等）。这样利用同学们自身的知识与经验，课前自己准备学习材料，使学习内容更切合实际，就更容易深切感知教材内容。教学中主张同学们自主、自导学习，合作学习，强调不是个人学习，而是群体学习中的自主性。
2．要注意What does he like 和What does he look like 用法的区别。
例如：①---What does he like 他喜欢什么？
---He likes ice cream.他喜欢冰淇淋。
②---What does he look like 他长得怎么样？
---He’s a little bit tall.他有点儿高。
知识链接
1． ---What does he look like 他长得怎么样？
---He has a medium build. 他中等身材。
look like 意思是“看上去像…”，强调外表。look 动词，这儿的意思是“看上去，看起来”。like 介词，这儿的意思是“像…一样”。
like是同学们所熟悉的单词。like可以作介词，其主要意思是"像……"；它还可以作动词，意思是"喜欢"。现将其用法简述如下：
1 like用作介词时，表示"像……"，后面可以接名词和代词。
例如：He looks like his mother.他看起来像他妈妈。
2 like作动词，意思是"喜欢"，后可接名词、动词不定式、V-ing形式等。
例如：I don't like salad or broccoli. 我不喜欢沙拉，也不喜欢花椰菜。
All of us like playing soccer. 我们都喜欢踢足球。　
3 注意区别What do/does...look like 和What do/does...like
What do/does...look like 指外表怎么样，句中的like是介词。
例如： ---What does your teacher look like 你们的老师长得怎样？
---He is tall and thin. 他又高又瘦。
What do/does...like 是"……喜欢什么？" 的意思，句中的like是动词。
例如： ---What does your brother like 你弟弟喜欢什么？
---He likes playing guitar and painting. 他喜欢弹吉他和画画。

short hair短发
curly hair卷发
straight hair直发
头发是一个不可数名词，不能在前面加a. 如她留着长发该说：She has long hair. 而不是She has a long hair.
3. He has a medium build, and he has short hair. 他中等身材，留着短发。She is a little bit tall.她有些高。　　　　　　　　　　
句中have 和 be的用法有所不同。
have “有” 表示某人有…, 或者某事物具有…
例如：I have long curly hair.我有长卷发。
A clock has a minute hand and an hour hand.闹
钟有一根时针和分针。
be “是”
例如：The sky is blue.天是蓝的。
I am not tall.我不高。
Alice is very thin.爱丽斯很瘦。
4．I think I know her. 我想我认识她和I don’t think he’s so great.我认为他这样不好。我们注意到think 这个动词的用法比较特别。
在英语中如要发表自己的观点或判断时，常用I think开始，后面加一叫做“宾语从句”的句子.
例如： I think she is right. 我想她是对的。I think he is your English teacher. 我想他是你的英语老师。
如若判断的事物是否定含义时，用否定词don't ,但要写在think 的前面。
例如：I don't think she is in Grade One. 我认为她不在一年级。
I don't think you are right.我认为你不对
5．Wang Lin is very popular.　王林很受欢迎。此句用popular来修饰人，是“受欢迎，受喜爱”的意思。
例如： Mr. Wang is a popular teacher in our school.王老师在我们学校是一位受欢迎的老师。He is a popular football player. 他是位受大众喜爱的足球运动员。
popular 还有“流行”的意思。
例如：This song is very popular.这支歌很流行。
6．She wears glasses. 她戴眼镜。
She always wears a red dress.她总是穿着一件红衣服。
always“总是” She is always happy every day.她每天总是很高兴。
wear “穿着”动词。表示状态。
例如：People wear raincoats in rainy days.人们雨天穿雨衣。
I like wearing casual clothes.我喜欢穿休闲服装。
　 另外，戴眼镜也用wear.
例如：People wear sunglasses in sunny days. 人们在晴天喜欢戴太阳镜。
7． Wang Lin is the captain of the basketball. 王林是篮球队的队长。the captain of … 指…的队长。
8． She is a little bit quiet. 她有点内向。 a little bit 有点儿。quiet 指人的性格。
例如：She is a little bit heavy.她有点儿胖。
I feel a little bit tired now. 我现在感到有点累。
It is a little bit hot today.今天有点热。
9. Xu Qian loves to tell jokes 徐纤爱讲笑话。
love to do sth.　喜爱做某事
例如：I love to eat ice creams around the year. 我一年四季都爱吃冰淇淋。
tell jokes “讲笑话”　注意这里讲只可以用tell。
10．She never stops talking.她从来不会停止讲话。
never “从不”是一个副词。如：I am never late for work.我工作从不迟到。
stop后可跟 to do和doing.
stop doing sth. 意思是“停止做某事”， stop talking指停止讲话。
stop to do 意思是停下（原来所做的事情）去做（另一件事），stop to talk指停止原来的事去讲话。
例如：The students stop talking when the teacher comes in. 老师进来时，学生们停止了讲话。
The students stop to welcome the teacher when he comes in. 老师进来是，学生们停下原来的事去欢迎他。
11. The rock singer with funny glasses and long curly hair 戴一幅滑稽眼镜，留着长长的卷发的摇滚歌星？ with是介词，这里的意思是“带有，具有”。
例如： He’s tall with brown hair.=He’s tall and he
has brown hair.
the rock singer with funny glasses
= the rock singer wears funny glasses
从这两个句子中，我们可以看出为避免过多的
简单句，我们可以使用with短语。
12．Now he has a new look. 现在他有了新的形象。“look”在这里是名词，作“外表”讲。
