1.1 Lesson 25 No Stopping! 通过Jenny和Brian步行上学途中所见的社区环境,我们可以了解和认识加拿大社区。通过本课的学习,我们可以复习问路的常用表达法,学会辨析一些重要的词和词组.
1.2 Lesson 26 The Best Neighborhood 通过Jenny, Brian和Danny 所描画出的理想社区,我们可以看到不同的人根据自己的实际需要,会有自己喜欢的社区。可以就学生自己的理想社区展开教学,鼓励他们发挥想象力。通过本课的学习,我们可以教育学生热爱自己的社区, 尊重他人,为他人着想。

1.7 Lesson 31 I Need a Map! 通过学习Brian给父母写的信,介绍了Brian在加拿大近来一周的情况。也是对本单元的总结。我们可以让学生以第三人称形式进行复述。同时设计一个给朋友写信指路的活动。复习运用问路、指路常用表达法。
1.8 Lesson 32 Unit Review是复习课。以练习的形式对本单元的词汇、语法和情境交际进行了复习、归纳。

1.1 Lesson 25和Reader中的Our Morning Walk合为一课时。主要通过学习认识加拿大社区的情况。学生在结合自己社区进行比较的同时, 学会辨析一些词语。
1.2 Lesson 26和Reader: Dinosaur City结合在一起学习。谈论每个人心目中的理想社区。
1.3 Lesson 29和Reader中的Where Can You Buy It 结合在一起, 通过学习了解加拿大学生的生活。通过阅读课外读物我们可以认识一些国外的饮食商店。目的在于通过学习讨论, 对社区有一个充分了解。

Step V Practicing
Get the students to do Exercise 4 in the activity book if necessary, explain the students the usage of the following words or phrases.
Notes: 1. past and passed have the same sound, but past is a prepositional while passed is a verb.

And then divide the class into small groups. Ask each group to talk about how their lives are the same as, or different from Michael’s.

Divide the class into four groups and ask them to draw their city or school or neighborhood and talk about those maps. And then according to what Jenny and Danny have been done to play a map game. The teacher should walk around and help them if necessary.
Step III Listening
Listen to the following information and complete the map below.
Show the first map to the students and read the listening material to them to get them fill in the map. After that, show the second map to check their answers.

There is a grocery store in the top left corner. On its right is a gym. Next to gym on the top right corner is a big store. In the middle left of the map you can see a bakery.
