Step1 Greetings & Lead in 8---------10:28
T: Class begins. Sit down please.
Can you say “Hello” to the teachers “Nice to meet you”, ”Hi”, “Good morning.”
How are you (Ss ask:) How are you
T: I’m great and I’m very happy. Because I have something good to tell you. Here’s some good news for you. We have many different clubs to join. What clubs do you know
The art club, the music club, the English club, the basketball club…
Let’s read together.
T: What club do you want to join /Do you want to join the music club
Ss: The music club./Yes.
T: Then what can you do in the music club OK, you can play the guitar. You can play the piano, play the drums, play the trumpet or play the violin. (Pay attention to “the” before instrument.)
(If Ss answer “No”, Teacher says: I’m sorry to hear that. But I’ll tell you maybe you can’t sing or dance, but you can learn a lot in the music club, and it’s very nice.
T: So what can you do in the music club OK, you can play the guitar. You can play the piano, play the drums, play the trumpet or play the violin.(Work in chain while teaching each phrase by”Can you… Yes, I can./No, I can’t.”)
Teach Ss to read the new phrases with the raising tone and the falling tone.

T: Do you like music Ok, Let’s enjoy some music. Listen carefully, and guess what’s the sound of

First, read the phrases and then match them.

T: Look at me carefully. Can you guess what I can do (Then act how to play the instruments. Maybe they can’t get the answer first, give them some hints) What can I do Yes, play the guitar.
T: I will ask someone to choose a piece of paper in the box, and perform the actions on the paper.
And other students guess the phrases.

T: Please open your books, and turn to P62. Look at 2a. Read the words first. Listen to the recording carefully, and try to get the answers. (CIA shows the pictures & words of Activity 2a) Check the answers with the whole class.
Look at activity 2b. Look at the words in the box and read the phrases together. Teach them to read the names.
T: Now, listen again, and try to fill in the chart. Choose someone to tell the answers, and then CIA show the answers.
Then read after the recording. Pay attention to the pronunciation.
