T: We talked about the harm of pollution in the last topic. And we know there are many kinds of pollution, such as water pollution, air pollution, light pollution, litter and so on. How do these kinds of pollution affect our environment

Example:
S1: Water pollution makes some animals dead.

S3: People and animals can’t drink the water.

Ss:They are plastic bags.
T: Yes. But we should use plastic bags as few as possible. In another way, We should reduce them. (教师释义并领读reduce。)
T: What kinds of bags should we use

T: We can use bags like these. We can use them again and again. That is to say, we can reuse them instead of throwing them away. (教师释义并让学生重复读reuse。)

T: They are cans. They are soft drink cans. Should we throw them away after we drink

T: You’re right. we should collect them for recycling.

T: Now, we know, we should reduce, reuse and recycle some things at home to protect our environment. We call the three Rs—reduce, reuse and recycle.

T: (教师出示一塑料瓶) Look at this plastic bottle, it’s empty. Let’s throw it away.(扔在地上)
Ss: Mr./Miss…, you are wrong.
T: Why
Ss: Because it can be reused.
T: (教师出示一罐头瓶。) Here is a can. It’s not useful. S1, please throw it out of the window.
S1: Sorry. Mr./Miss…, I can’t do that. We must protect our environment and it can be collected and recycled.
T: What a greener person! We all should protect the environment around us. We need to reduce the waste we produce. We should use both sides of paper, and reuse plastic bags rather than throw them away, but actions speak louder than words. S2, could you pick up the plastic bottle on the floor for me
S2: Certainly. (学生拾起。)

Ss: It means“make something less or smaller”.
T: Then what should we reduce
Ss: We should reduce the things which people can use only once.
T: Good! And what does“reuse”mean
Ss: “Reuse”means“use it again”.
T: What should we reuse
Ss: We should reuse plastic bags. Give our old clothes to our friends.
T: What about“recycle”
Ss: It means we collect waste papers or soft drink cans and sort them so that they can be recycled.
T: It’s true. However, easier said than done.
2. (1) (听句子,判断对错,训练学生听力技能,复习总结怎样成为绿色使者。)
T: We know that the rubbish produced every day is becoming a serious problem. What should we do to protect our environment I list some good or bad habits. Now listen to me carefully. Tell me whether it’s good or bad, and try to write down the good habits. Now be ready!
