过去分词用法
过去分词作前置定语和表语用法
1.作前置定语
单个的过去分词作定语时,通常放在被修饰的名词前,作前置定语。
The injured man was taken to a hospital.
及物动词的过去分词作定语时,通常带有被动和 完成的意义。
frozen food a lost necklace
不及物动词的过去分词作定语时,通常只是表示动作已经发生或 完成,不表示被动的意义。
the risen sun fallen leaves
凡是用作定语修饰人或表示人的心理状态或情感变化时,要用过去分词,修饰事物时,则多用动词-ing形式作定语。
The excited boys couldn't help shouting at the exciting news.
2.作表语
过去分词作表语,表示主语所处的状态
The road was lined with trees.
过去分词作表语与被动语态的区别
The bus was crowded with passengers.(表示状态 )
The boys were crowded into a room.(被动态 表示动作)
主语是人,且表示人的精神状态时,表语用过去分词

过去分词作宾语补足语
1. with复合结构

2. have make get 等表示“使…” 的动词
have sth. done 1) 让某人做某事 让某事被做 2)遭遇某种情况

My sister had her wallet stolen on a bus last month.
I raise my voice to make myself heard.
3. see notice watch observe hear listen to 等感观动词和think find 等表示心理状态的动词。

4. want wish like expect order 等表示希望 愿望 命令的动词

过去分词作状语
1 原因状语
相当于as,since, because 引导的从句,这类状语多放在句首。
Disappointed with the results of the experiment, she started a new one.
(she started a new one because she was disappointed with the results of the experiment. )
2.作时间状语
相当于when引导的时间状语从句,如果分词与主句谓语动词同时发生,可在分词前用when,while, until等使其时间意义更明确。
When heated (When water is heated), water can be changed into steam.
3.作条件状语
相当于if,unless引导的从句。
Compared with you (If we are compared with you), we still have a long way to go.
4.作方式或伴随状语
此时一般不用状语从句替换,但是可以改写成并列句。
Just then a white-haired woman entered, supported by a girl.
(Just then a white-haired woman entered, and she was supported by a girl).
5.作让步状语
相当于though, even if 等引导的让步状语从句
Wounded ,the brave soldier continued to fight.
(Though he was wounded ,the brave soldier continued to fight.)

More and more people read newspaper everyday. There are many reasons for reading newspaper, but in general, they come down to three major reasons.
For one thing, there are many important issues happening at home and abroad. Newspaper makes us well informed. Reports on the on-going important events are often given up-to-date.
For another, newspaper helps to cultivate our social responsibility if we join the discussion about those hot issues by writing to the editor of the newspaper.
Last but not least, it is good way of relaxing ourselves by reading newspaper for a while after a whole day’s work. What we learn from newspaper could become a topic for dinner conversation.
In a word, newspaper is our friend. We read it everyday to get information or to know something we need for our job and study. I hope that everyone will enjoy reading newspaper as long as he can.
