space explorationI guess some of you are dreaming of becoming an __________ and travelling to ________ to carry out _________________ . If this comes true, you’ll probably travel by ______________ , a spaceship that looks like an aeroplane. Two _________ supported by a launch tower will lift the space shuttle into space. Some time after the rockets and the space shuttle are _________, the rockets will separate from the space shuttle and fall into the sea. Then a ship will pick them up. Astronauts will do their research in a base in outer space called ____________ .Sometimes they go out of their space shuttle to take a _________ . In outer space astronauts cannot take off their __________ , which protect them and provide oxygen. In 1965, Alexei Leonov from the former Soviet Union became the first human being to take a walk in space.astronautspaceSpace explorationspace shuttlerocketslaunchedspace stationspacewalkspacesuits space shuttle astronaut

Good afternoon, everyone. I’m so glad to be here to tell you something about outer space and space exploration. Space exploration began in 1957 with the launch of the first artificial satellite. Unmanned spaceships have been launched into space since 1959. By 1961, people were orbiting the Earth. Yuri Gagarin from the former Soviet Union became the first human being to travel in space. Today, most important planets have been examined. Photos have been taken and samples have been collected from the planets, but no evidence of life has been discovered on any of the planets so far. Scientific research still continues. the process of space exploration The first artificial satellite was launched. People could orbit the Earth. Photos are taken and samples are collected from the planet.Unmanned spaceships were launched into space.People orbited the Earth.(Yuri Gagarin, from the former Soviet Union)The first artificial satellite was launched. An overview of space explorationThe first space travel: Yuri Gagarin (former Soviet Union)

in outer space Shenzhou family in ChinaShenzhou I ---20 Nov. 1999, remained in orbit for 21hours
Shenzhou II---10 Jan. 2001, carried unspecified animals
Shenzhou III---25 Mar. 2002, carried “dummy” astronauts
Shenzhou IV---30 Dec. 2002, carried “dummy” astronauts
Shenzhou V---15 Oct. 2003, launched its first astronaut
Shenzhou VI---12 Oct. 2005, launched two astronautsThe launch of Shenzhou VIChina has sent two astronauts into space this year. The Shenzhou-VI spacecraft has been sent into orbit in the second half of this year. It carried two astronauts and stayed in space for several days. The two astronauts on the mission conducted scientific experiments in the orbit capsule of the spacecraft during the space flight, but there were no plans for space walks or other activities outside the spacecraft. Astronauts Nie Haisheng (L) and Fei Junlong waved to people at the gate of the special plane when they arrived in Beijing, Oct. 17, 2005. Astronauts orbiting the Earth in the Shenzhou-VI aircraft, talk through phones with their family members .Astronauts Nie Haisheng and Fei Junlong have prepared for the launch.SUMMARY Space explorationHomework 1 Search for more information about space exploration.
