When are you leaving ? Where are you staying?
How are you going to……? How long are you staying in……?
When are you arriving in/at…? When are you coming back?Warming Up现在进行时表将来的用法表示按计划在最近要进行的动作.例如:
I’m going to Qinghai for the summer holiday.
We are meeting him after the performance.
How are you getting to the airport?
When is Tom taking his holiday?注意:
 用现在进行时表将来时间,在句中或上下文中通常有表示将来的时间状语或其他依据,否则意义便会含糊不清.比较:
Are you doing anything special tonight?(表将来)
Are you doing anything special now?(表说话时正在进行的活动)
Are you doing anything special?(可作以上两种解释,依上下文而定.)
只有少数动词可以这样用:如come, go, have, leave, arrive, stay, start等.

The world has many great rivers. If you could travel down only one of them, which would you choose? Why?
What will you do before traveling?
What will you take with you if you cycle down a river?
Can you imagine what’s the journal talking about?Pre-readingJOURNER DOWN THE MEKONGTHE DREAM AND THE PLAN
My name is Wang Kun. Since middle school, my sister Wang Wei and I have dreamed about taking a great bike trip. When we graduated from college, we finally got the chance to do it. It was my sister who first had the idea to cycle along the Mekong River from where it begins to where it ends. She loves to go for long bike rides in the countryside. Two years ago she bought an expensive mountain bike. Then she persuaded me to buy one. Last year, she visited our cousins, Dao Wei and Yu Hang at their college in Kunming. They are Dai and grew up in western Yunnan Province near the Lancang River, the Chinese part of the river that is called the Mekong River before flowing in other countries. Wang Wei soon got them interested in cycling too.1JOURNER DOWN THE MEKONG Wang Wei can be really stubborn. Although she didn’t know the best way of getting to places, she insisted that we find the source of the river and begin our journey there. She told me that she wanted to do the trip properly. Now, I know that the proper way is always her way. I asked her whether she had looked at a map yet. Of course, she hadn’t; my sister doesn’t care about details. So I told her that the source of the Mekong is in Qinghai Province. She gave me a determined look-the kind that said she wouldn’t change her mind. When I told her that our journey would begin at an altitude of more than 5,000 meters, she seemed to be excited about it. When I told her the air would be hard to breathe and it would be very cold, she said it would be an interesting experience. I know my sister well. Once she has made up her mind, nothing can change it. Finally, I had to give in.2JOURNER DOWN THE MEKONG Several months before our trip , Wang Wei and I went to the library. We found a large atlas with good maps that showed details of the world’s geography. I kept asking her, ”When are we leaving and when are we coming back ? ” From the atlas we could see that the Mekong River begins at a glacier on a Tibetan mountain. At first, the river is small, and the water is clear and cold. Then it begins to move quickly. It becomes rapids as it passes through deep valleys, travelling across western Yunnan Province. Sometimes the river enters wide valleys and becomes a waterfall. We were both surprised to learn that half of the river is in China. After it leaves China and the high altitudes, the Mekong becomes wide, brown an warm. As it enters Southeast Asia, it travels slowly through hills and low valleys, and the plains where rice grows. At last, the river’s delta enters the South China Sea. 31 Work in pairs. Ask and answer the following question.1 Who are Wang Kun and Wang Wei?
