Step I Lead-in
1.Talk about the Autumn sports Meeting held by our school last year.Our class achieved good results. Many athletes did very well.
2.Show a picture of Liu Xiang and ask students questions:
① Who is he?
②What is he good at?
Step II. Warm-up.
1. There are many kinds of sports and games in our daily life. Can you give me some examples?
① soccer.
② table tennis.
③ basketball.
④ swimming,……
2.show another six kinds of sports
baseball.② badminton. ③ boxing. ④.diving ⑤.cycling ⑥.fencing ⑦shadowboxing ⑧ jogging
3. a competition
Divide the whole class into four groups, work in pairs, try to ask and answer the questions like this:

The group who acts the most dialogue will win.
Step III. Listening
1.Listen to part I and fill in the blanks.
2.Listen to part II and choose the correct answers.
Step IV Listen and imitate.
1. Show sentences 2 in listening part.
It’s easy to see who ran fastest, isn’t it?
Ask one or two students to reed this sentence, then read it together.
2. Listen to part A, pay attention to the red letters, then ask students to imitate.
