The weather is not beautiful all of the time. Perhaps you can remember a day when bad weather made you afraid. One kind of bad weather that frightens many people is called a thunderstorm(暴风雨).
This is what happens when there is a thunderstorm. First you see a sudden flash of bright light. A few seconds later, you hear a loud rumbling sound. This quick flash is called lightning, and the loud sound is called thunder. Lightning is colorful, but it can cause serious problems.
Lightning is electricity that is moving very rapidly. It may be moving between a cloud and the the ground, between two clouds, or between two parts of the same cloud. The lightning heats the air around it. This hot air expands(扩大) or gets bigger, and it causes the air to move in waves which pass you in a series(系列),one after another.

Most people have had a dog or wanted one as their companion at some time in their lives. If you are thinking of buying a dog, however, you should first decide what sort of companion you need and whether the dog is likely to be happy in the surroundings you can provide. Specialists’ advice is useful to help you choose the most suitable kind of dog. But in part the decision depends on common sense. Different dogs were originally developed to perform different tasks. So, if you want a dog to protect you or your house, for example, you should choose the one that has the right size and chracteristics. You must also be ready to devote a great deal of time to training the dog when it is young and give it the exercise it needs throughout its life, unless you live in the countryside and can let it run freely. Dogs are demanding pets. Cats love the house and so are satisfactory with their place where it is safe, but a dog is loyal to its master and wants him to show proof of his affection. The best time to buy a baby dog is when it is between 6 and 8 weeks old so that it can pass its love from its mother to its master. If baby dogs have not formed(形成) a relation with the human being until they are over three months old, their strong relationship will always be with dogs. They are likely to be shy when they are brought out into the world to become good pets.
65. Which of the following is NOT TRUE according to the passage
You can always get help from the specialists.
It is common sense that is the most important when choosing a dog.
You should decide what kind of dog you want.
Size and chracteristics of the dogs should be considered too.
66. What is mentioned as a consideration in buying a dog
The color of the dog.
The price of the dog.
Whether the dog will fit the environment.
Whethert the dog will get along with the other pets in the house.
67. Why does the writer say a dog is a more demanding pet than a cat
It must be trained so that it won’t bite.
It damands more food and space.
It needs more love and care.
It must be looked after carefully.
68. Why is it advised to buy a baby dog under three months old
It’s easier to buy a baby dog under three months old.
They are less likely to be shy with human beings.
They are less likely to run away.
It’s easier for them to develop a relationship with their masters.
69. The word “ affection” means “______”.
A. love B. effect C. tie D. relationship
D

Early fires on earth were certainly caused by nature, not by man. Like animals, man was probably afraid of fire at first. He knew that fire could hurt his body. The power of fire was so great that he feared it and worshipped it. Gradually, however, with his better powers of thinking, he overcame his fear. Throughout the ages he has learned more about fire, how to control it and how to use it in many ways.
We can guess how man first learned that a fire was useful and what uses he made of it. By taking a burning stick from fire started naturally, he could make a fire at his own “home”. He discovered that meat cooked on a fire tasted better. Then he found cooked meat would keep longer, without going bad, than uncooked meat.
Again, at some early date, man found how fire could be used to make certain metals from the rocks. Then he could make a tool with a sharp edge for cutting.
73. Gradually, man wasn’t afraid of fire any longer because__________.

Dear Jianhua,
I’m very glad to have received the letter you sent me two weeks ago. I’ve been thinking about the question you asked me. In my opinion, you should come back after you finish your studies abroad. For one reason, what you are studying is badly needed nowadays in China. It will be quite easy for you to find a good job. In fact, I know a few big companies in our city are hoping to employ people like you. For another reason, I think it will be much more convenient for you to look after your parents as they are getting old. Therefore, I think it’s a good idea for you to return. So what are you waiting for
Best wishes
Minghua
