Teaching contents:
Module 5 Unit 2 Welcome to the unit
Teaching aims:
1. To help the students to improve their oral English and enlarge their vocabulary about environment.
2. To enable the students to know about several kinds of pollution to the earth.
3. To encourage the Ss to protect our earth and learn something about protecting the environment.
Important points:
To discuss the phenomena of environment pollution
Difficult points:
To analyze the causes and results of environment pollution and to take measures to protect the environment

Teaching procedures:
Step I. Greetings
Step II. Lead- in to the new lesson.
1. Ask the Ss to explain the title of this unit: The environment.
What is the environment (It is the place where people, animals and plants live. )
Since it is our nature and we live in this natural world, do you think our environment is good enough
Compared with the last few years, do you think the environment is getting better or worse (It is getting worse.)
2. Ask the Ss to talk about the reasons of getting worse.
What might be the reasons for the changes
(T shows some pictures of pollution to the Ss and ask them the reasons )
P1: smoke from the factory
P2: chopping down trees
P3: waste water
P4: sandstorm
P5: forest fire
P6: everyday rubbish
3. Encourage Ss to protect the environment
We know air pollution、river pollution、noise pollution and so on can harm our environment. What should we do to improve our environment
