?Languages change with time and the world, and so does English. New words are borrowed from other languages. About 900years ago there are great changes in England. A great many words were borrowed into English from French. About 500years ago there was another great change. This time it was a change in pronunciation, but the spelling was not much changed. English words are spelled quite the same as they were in those days. The spelling shows how words were spoken at that time. It does not tell us much about the pronunciation of words today. For example, the letters gh in the word “night” show us nothing about how it spoken now. That’s why students of English find English spelling so confusing.(容易弄错的)

Mars is not, it seems , the dry old planet we once believed it to be. Astronauts who are expected to go there in the next ten years may find plenty of water to get their thirst away. If there is water , it will be much more possible to find life on Mars.
This is the view of 40 geologists who have been analyzing(分析) thousands of pictures and other scientific information gained by robot explores(探测仪) in the 1960s and 1970s.
At first scientists thought the red planet was as lifeless as the moon with dust storms blowing over the large sandy deserts. But now the picture is very different with mountains and valleys cut by glaciers(冰川) and rivers running deep underground.
In a report on the analysis of the Martian pictures Dr Michael Car of the US says, “I believe there is lots of water on Mars.” Water will be in the form of ice. But it could save explores from having to take water with them.
The report says that Mars probably had a warmer climate in ages past, because of its axis(轴线) having been more titled(倾斜) towards the sun.
No convincing signs of plant or animal life have been found by instruments soft landed on Mars although only nearby area of landing instruments could be examined.

Getting up early is a good habit. It is of great importance to our health, our study and our life. First, it can help us to keep fit and strong. We can improve our health by doing morning exercises, walking, running in the open air. Second, getting up early and reading aloud can help memorize what we have learned easily. Third, if we get up early, we don’t need to be in a hurry to go to school or work without having breakfast. So we’ll have a very good mood all day. If we stick to it, it will benefit us a lot, especially in our character-making.
