On May 21, 1999, some American scientists were working at the computers to look for information they needed. Suddenly they saw a lot of very bright red spots crossing the computers' screens. At the same time the computers were working much slower. To find out what was happening they stopped their work to check some parts of the computers. To their horror, they found out that most of their stored information was got rid of by computer viruses(电脑病毒). Obviously all these computers had been infected by computer viruses.
It's said that the computer viruses were made by two or three Philippine young men fond of playing tricks. They all had excellent education. They created the viruses just to show their intelligence. The kind of computer viruses is named "I Love You" virus. This virus can hide in computers for long. When the time comes it will attack the computers by lowering the important functions, damaging their normal programs or even getting rid of a great deal of information which operators of the computers often use or store, what's worse, it still can reproduce itself in great quantities within a short time.
We come to know that "I Love You" virus often attacks computers on Mondays and that it is spreading to many computers in the world. A few years later, I took a second look at that first poem, it was a pretty lousy poem. After a while, I worked up the courage to show him something new, a short story. My father thought it was overwritten but not hopeless. I was learning to rewrite, and my mother was learning that she could criticize me without rushing me .you might say we were all learning. I was going on 12.
It wasn’t until years later that I began to understand the true meaning of that painful ‘first poem’ experience. As I became a full-time writer, it became clearer and clearer to me how fortunate I had been. I had a mother who said, “ Buddy ,did you really write this I think it,s wonderful!” and a father who shook his head and drove me to tears with “I think it's lousy ”.A writer—in fact everyone of us in life—needs that loving force from which all creations flow .Yet ,alone that force is incomplete ,even misleading, needing the balance of the force that tells you ,“Watch .Listen. Review . Improve.”
Sometimes you find these opposing forces ,in friends or loved one .But finally you must balance these opposites within yourself:first ,the confidence to go forward ,to do ,to become;second, the balancing of self-approval with hard –headed ,practical self –appraisal(评价).
Those conflicting(相矛盾的) but complementary(充足的) voices of my childhood echo(发回声)down through the years–wonderful …lousy…wonderful…lousy----like two opposing winds blowing on me .I try to make my boat go in the correct direction so as not to crash before either.
68. The underlined word “rush” may possibly means .
A. to attack immediately and suddenly B. to move in a hurry
C. to praise highly D. to teach patiently
69. What might have been the writer's feeling when he heard what his parents said about the short story
A. He didn’t mind what his father had said.
B. He was so upset just like a little angry lion.
C. He was sad but not losing heart.
D. He hated his father very much.
70. What does the writer value most about writer's success in life
A. His hard work.
B. His school education.
C. The environment the writer lived in
D. The way the writer’s parents treated him.

Some scientists say that animals in the ocean are increasingly threatened (威胁) by noise pollution caused by human beings. The noise that affects sea creatures comes from a number of human activities. It is caused mainly by industrial underwater explosions, ocean drilling, and ship engines. Such noises are added to natural sounds. These sounds include the breaking of ice fields, underwater earthquakes, and sounds made by animals themselves.
Decibels(分贝)measured in water are different from those measured on land. A noise of one hundred and twenty decibels on land causes pain to human ears. In water, a decibel level of one hundred and ninety-five would have the same effect.
Some scientists have proposed setting a noise limit of one hundred and twenty decibels in oceans. They have observed that noises at that level can frightened and confuse whales.
A team of American and Canadian scientists discovered that loud noises can seriously injure some animals. The research team found that powerful underwater explosions were causing whales in the area to lose their hearing. This seriously affected the whales’ ability to exchange information and find their way. Some of the whales even died. The explosions had caused their ears to bleed and become infected.
Many researchers whose work depend on ocean sounds object to a limit of one hundred and twenty decibels. They say such a limit would mean an end to important industrial and scientific research.
Scientists do not know how much and what kinds of noises are harmful to ocean animals. However, many scientists suspect that noise is a greater danger than they believed. They want to prevent noises from harming creatures in the ocean.
71. According to the passage, which of the following is increasingly dangerous to sea creatures
A. The man-made noises. B. The noises made by themselves.
C. The sound of earthquakes. D. The sound of the ice-breaking.
72. Which of the following is discussed in the second paragraph
A. Different places with different types of noises.
B. The very human ears sensitive to all types of noises.
C. The same noise measured differently on land and in the ocean.
D. The ocean animal’s reaction to noises.
73. As to the influence of noises on whales, which of the following statement is true
A. They are deaf to noises. B. Noises at a certain level may hurt them.
C. They are easily confused by noises. D. Noises will limit their ability to reproduce.
74 We can know from the passage that many scientists think that the noise limit of one hundred twenty decibels would______.
A. prevent them from doing their research work
B. benefit them a lot in their research work
C. do good to their health
D. increase the industrial output
75. According to the passage, what will scientists most probably do in the future
A. They will try their best to decrease noise.
B. They will work hard to cut down noise pollution.
C. They will study the effect of different noises.
D. They will protect animals from harmful noises.
