Teaching Materials:
New Senior English for China, Module1, Unit 1.
Teaching Aims:
1. Enable students to enjoy a poem about Friendship and have a discussion about it;
2. Make them acquire the problem of Xiaodong, know the letter form and write a letter to him giving him some advice.
Teaching Important Points and Difficult Points:
1. Review their comprehension on friendship and have a sublimation(升华);
2. Learn how to write a letter in English and how to correct a composition;
Teaching Methods:
1. Group work and individual work;
2. Pair work and work with the teacher

A multimedia, a blackboard and an overhead projector.
Teaching Procedure:
Step 1 Revision
T: Hello, everyone.
Ss: Hello, Mr. Zhou.
T: Do you know the topic of the unit
S1: Friendship.
T: What does it mean in Chinese
S2: 友谊.
Through this “ask and answer”, I want to recall their memory of the unit and remember what they are talking in the following.
Step 2 A poem
T: OK. Now, let’s enjoy a poem A Forever Friend一个永远的朋友
and answer my question: What do you know about friendship from the reading
After having heard the poem, I would like to ask them to discuss the question in a group of four and ask every reporter to write down their understanding, and then tell some of them to report their results to other students. By this way, they would have a mind about friendship and know some useful words on friendship; this will lay the base for writing.
Step 3 Reading a letter
Then, on the screen , there will appear “But if ……”, I will ask , But if you do not know how to make friends , what will you do
By this, I can lead them to read a letter from Xiaodong to The 21st Century .
T: What problem does Xiaodong have
So I will ask them again to have a discussion on how to advise Xiaodong to make some friends well, of course, the reporters will write down their advice and some will report their words to the class. And, at the same time, on the screen , useful expressions will be seen ,

Advice on making friends
At this time, I will write the structure on the blackboard in order that they can see it all the time. Then, I will show the form of a letter on the screen. This can help them recall their memory on it
After all these, they will have 7-8 minutes to write the answer letter individually.

By this, I want them to build up a habit on correcting their own writing to improve their writing. Then, I will use the over-head projector to correct 1 or 2 papers together with students.
Step 6 Rewriting
After the correction, they will know some mistakes and then, I will give them several minutes to rewrite their own composition and this will teach them to be aware of some visible mistakes , and I will tell to use some phrases, such in order to/so as to , try to , so, and, when , before……, so their writing could be improved a lot.
Step 7 Conclusion
From this lesson, they will learn how to write a letter and how to correct a composition. By this step, I want them to recall the content immediately in case they will forget it easily.
Step 8 Homework
1. Rewrite your letter and copy it into exercise books.
2. Recite new words and be ready for the dictation(听写).

教后反思:
经过一段时间的悉心准备,终于完成了这节课。总体感受比较轻松。因为以前在讲作文课的时候,没有这样的构思,只顾着自己一个人讲,没有给学生练习的余地,只是留作业给他们,校对后也没有把整体性或个别性的错误进行反馈,以致使学生们的错误得不到制止。而且以前自己在讲作文课的时候,通常学生们都有一种感受,虽然老师讲过了可是依然不知从何下手,没有东西可写。这节课我针对这个问题作了很细心的设计,每一步都有引导学生去说,并且重要的环节,重要的词都有在黑板上呈现出来,这样让同学们写的时候根据关键词自己也会写出一两句话来。最重要的是这节课中,我利用了实物投影仪对几名同学的作文在大家面前进行当场审批,这样可以让同学们对于普遍性的错误明确的认识并改正。得到了及时反馈的效果。
当然这只是把自己与自己从前的教学进行比较有了一个小小的进步。而对于真正的教学标准还差的很远很远。我感谢给我评课的各位老师,他们都给了我非常诚恳的意见。尤其要感谢我县教研员陈建霞老师和林红蕾老师的宝贵建议:应该给学生一个范文,并指出其中的经典句子与连词,可以起到示范让学生学习亮点的目的;再多给学生一点思考和合作的时间;在学生写作文期间应给予个别环节的指导,这样可以让学生的作文更有个性一点……在这里再次感谢他们的指点.
对于英语作文课的教法,还有待于探讨,怎样让老师教的轻松,学生写的更轻松,使学生灵活的运用这一门语言,我还要向各位老师请教.在教学的道路上,我的路还很长很长……
