The air was hot, heavy, and dusty as we slowly unloaded from the bus. We were all from countries around the world, so none of us had ever seen the Grand Canyon before, but at that moment everyone wanted to check into the motel and rest. One of the Japanese travellers, a friend of mine, walked to the other side of the parking lot and suddenly shouted,” Oh, so beautiful!”A trip to the Grand CanyonQuestions:1. What kind of feeling does the phrase pulled into convey(传递)?It carries the feeling of slowness, tiredness and final relief after reaching the end of a long journey.2. What does the phrase unloaded from mean? Can it be replaced by got off?It means took the luggage along and got off the bus. It also carries the meaning of pulling the tired bodies and heavy luggage out after the long journey. Grammatically it can be replaced by got off, but the meaning expressed by got off is quite plain, not as strong as unloaded.
