Step 1 Review 第一步 复习(时间:15分钟)
1.(营造王俊峰从美国归来和朋友谈话的情景,通过交谈复习Topic 2中英美语言文化的差异。)
(W: Wang Junfeng Fs=friends)
Fs: Hi, Wang Junfeng.
W: Hello. Nice to see you again.
Fs: Nice to see you too. We miss you very much.
F1: Did you have a good journey
W: Of course I did. I had a wonderful time there.
F2: Could you make yourself understood in the U.S.A.
W: Not really. Sometimes I was in trouble. They spoke too fast and American English is not the same as British English. I think I should study harder at English.
Fs: Yes, we agree with you. Oral English is very important now. We should also pay attention to the differences between British English and American English.
2.(复习Section A中学习英语所遇到的困难,进而可以导入1a如何学好英语的策略。)
S1: I think it is important to learn oral English well.
S2: Yes. I agree with you. But I still hate to speak English in public because I’m a shy person.
S3: I always feel sleepy in English classes and I’m afraid of the final test.
S4: I’m afraid too. Because I can’t pronounce well and I always forget new words easily. English is too hard for me.
S5: Me too. I’ve worked hard at it for a long time, but it seems that I haven’t made any progress. I feel like giving up learning English.
S6: I think we can’t give it up though it’s difficult. We should ask somebody for help.
Ss: That’s right. Let’s ask Kangkang to give us some advice on how to learn English well.

T Class , we all know it’s important to learn English well, especially oral English. In fact, we may meet with many different kinds of difficulties. Are you interested in some advice on how to learn English well
Ss: Yes. We’re eager to know how to learn English well.
T: OK. In this lesson we’ll learn some advice on how to learn English well.
4.(学生速读1a,呈现出生词,教师板书。)
T: Read 1a quickly and silently, then find out the new words.
dare,toothpaste
(1) dare
T: “dare” means “to be brave enough to do sth.” . Who can make sentences with “dare”
S7: She dare not go outside alone at night.
S8: Dare you say that to her
(2) toothpaste
T: What does “toothpaste” mean Can you describe it, class “Toothpaste” is a kind of thing that you put on a brush and is used to clean your teeth.
T: Who can make a sentence with it Who can have a try
S10: We use toothpaste to clean our teeth every day.
Step 2 Presentation 第三步 呈现(时间:10分钟)
1.(让学生听1a的录音,找出重点表达和wh- +to do的句子。)
T: Listen to the tape 1a and find out some useful expressions and “wh- +to do”sentences.
(听录音后,教师板书学生找出的重点并造句。)

(教师说明“wh- +to do”的结构,解释“wh- +to do”即相当于一个宾语从句,并告诉学生宾语从句转换成“wh- +to do”的条件:宾语从句的主语与主句的主语或宾语一致时即可转换。)
T: When we express“I don’t know what I should do next”, we have another saying of that. Do you know Who can have a try
Ss: Sorry, we don’t know.
T: We can say that like this: I don’t know what to do next. Boys and girls, could you give me more examples
(3) (为了进一步操练“wh- +to do”,组织学生进行链条式训练。)
T: OK. Boys and girls, let’s have a chain drill. Ready Go!

S15: I can’t decide where to find my lost book.

(4)(小组讨论。讨论同学们如何解决学英语时遇到的困难,给出建议。)
T: It’s time to work in groups. Discuss how to solve the difficulties we meet in English study. You can make a form like this.
For example:

(5) Do 1b. Write down Kangkang’s suggestions to his friends.
Step 3 Consolidation 第三步 巩固(时间:5分钟)
1.(放1a录音,学生听,注意学英语过程中所遇到的困难以及解决的方法。)
T: Listen to 1a, pay attention to the difficulties while learning English and the advice on how to solve them.
2.(再放一遍1a录音,让学生在练习本上写下所遇到的困难及解决建议。)
T: Listen to 1a again. Write down the difficulties and suggestions.
3.(根据所记录的困难及解决建议让学生操练1a对话,找学生表演出来。)
T: I’ll ask some students to act the dialog out, using the information you have written down.

Step 4 Practice 第四步 练习(时间:10分钟)

T: Make a survey. List out the difficulties and suggestions, then report to the class. You can begin like this.

Hello, everyone! I think we all want to learn English well though we may meet many difficulties. Today I’ll make a report on how to solve the difficulties and learn English well. Are you interested in that ...
2.(可在教室一角设一个咨询台,找擅长英语的同学做咨询顾问,有困难的同学可咨询。展开对话,操练本课重点活动,掌握学好英语的策略。)
T: Boys and girls, you see here’s an information desk in the corner of our classroom. If you meet any
difficulties in English study, you can ask the students who are at the information desk.
For example:
S1: I am not good at English. I can’t pronounce well.
S2: You can take part in English corner. I think you will make great progress soon.
S3: I am not good at writing compositions. What should I do
S4: I think you should always keep a diary.
S5: I can’t always understand them when people talk to me.
