Brief introduction to Beijing Opera
Beijing Opera was born in the 18th century in the Qing Dynasty, when four big Huiban opera troupes entered Beijing.
Beijing Opera combines acting, talking,
singing, music, dancing and acrobatics.
Actors or actresses play one of the four roles: sheng, dan, jing, chou with brightly-painted faces or masks.
The costumes are always in bright color.
Beijing opera is considered as a national treasure in China.
Today, Beijing Opera is the largest and most popular kind of opera in China and is very famous in the world. It has many programs, many artists and fans.
