从表2看，只有1行是正确的，其余9行中，要么错词，要么多词或缺词。而错误类型中错词最多，占改错题的60%。这就提示我们：首先要问的就是句中“谓语动词是否用错词”，然后再考虑有无多词，缺词。对名词 ，非谓语动词，介词以及代词，形容词（副词），连词，冠词的错误也应如此来考虑问题。

短文改错的目的是测试考生判断、发现、纠正语篇中语言错误的能力，其中包括考查考生在用词、词法、句法、句型结构以及行文逻辑等方面的实际水平，短文改错题实际上是考查考生综合运用英语的准确性。本题难度大，首先在于它集语法和多种语言技能于一身，在一段100多个词的短文中，错误可能出现在任何字里行间，有的错误较明显，有的却很隐蔽。考生必须对英语掌握较熟练，有较好的语感并具备较敏锐的目光，识别出来并予以纠正。其次，此题不提供任何提示，没有给予任何选择项目供考生比较、鉴别和选择，完全凭考生的语言水平，在字里行间去判断、去发现、去改正。短文改错的判断技巧：
一、通读全文，把握大意。 短文改错不同于单词改错，它涉及逻辑行文错误，及句子与句子之间必要的联系。单独看可能是对的，但从整体看却与上下文不符，因此，事先必须通读全文，把握文章的大意及上下文之间的联系。切不可拿到题目就一行一行地做下去。
