Step One: Lead-in
A. Greeting
T: Good morning/afternoon boys and girls.
Ss: Good morning/afternoon Miss Li.
T: How are you today
Ss: I am fine, thank you.
B. Revision
T: (take out some photos and cards) What is this
Ss: It’s photo
T: Is this your photo
Ss: No, it isn’t.
T: And what is this (point to the letter card)
Ss: It’s A/S
T: What color is it
Ss: It’s red /yellow…
Step Two: Presentation
T: This is letter A, and letter has other meanings. Who knows
T: Ok! Turn to p17 and look at 3a, this sentence’ Read the letter’ ‘letter means 信.
T: All of you to read this letter.
(Then ask Ss to translate it into Chinese, and explain’ thank for’ and ‘ here is my family photo’)

Step Three: Practice
A. writing
T: Just now we explain the letter and knew Emma send a photo to Mary. suppose you are Emma, how to draw a family photo, use the language in right blank.
T: Image your family photo and draw it and write a short letter, use this language (imitate 3b)

This is my mother. Her name is…
Then ask them to practice it with their partners about their letters, several Miins later ask them to show their letters and correct their mistakes.
B. Groupwork
T: Put the photo and the letters on the board , put them in different places .The other Ss will match the photos with letters.
Step four: Summary and Homework
A. words’ show

Homework:
Draw a family photo, try to write a letter to your friend and simply introduce family members to them.
