教学目标 1, 能听说认读单词deer ,giraffe和两个表示人物特点的形容词tall , short ,并能在实际情景中恰当的运用。2，在A部分对话的基础上，运用本课时及A部分学过的形容词描述事物牲3，学习常用表达法“yeah,you’re right”
重点难点 1,掌握四个句子：the giraffe is tall ,the deer is short. You’re tall, I’m short .2,运用所学的词句描述动物，教师引导学生由简单到复杂，学会较完整具体地谈谈自己所喜爱的动物。
教学过程 设计思路
Step 1 warming up1 sing a song of “they are in the zoo”2 let’s chant .a.复习上册的chantLook at the cat ,it is fat .Look at the pig, it is big.’……b.改编chant look at the cat ,it’s so fat . look at the pig ,it’s so big .… 复习歌曲的同时，又为新课的学习作铺垫，为下面环节作服务。通过 chant 引出句型，让学生在轻松的气氛中学习

It’s so big.Step2 presentation and practice1 学习句型the giraffe is tall ,the deer is short.a.学习一个chantBig, big , big ,the elephant is big.Small ,small, small, the mouse is small.b.自编一个chant ,学生说对时就用right, right ,you are right .对其进行表扬。c.用同样的方法教学tall 和short教授 I’m tall , you’re short.sing a song “I’m a boy ,you’re a girl”T:I’m a girl , you’re a boy.S: I’m a boy ,you’re a girl . b.请一名同学与自已并排站在一起，对学生说：I’m tall, you’re short.并引导该学生说：I’m short ,you’re tall. 请身高不同的学生两两操练。line up:四人一小组，按从高到矮或者从矮到高的顺序排列队伍操练句型。3 用所学的句型描述自己手中的动物玩具。和教师一起进行： Look at the elephant.wow ,it’s so big ,it has small eyes ,big ears and long legb. 描述自己所带的动物。4 展现课文内容，学生听，跟读，并表演对话。Step 5 Extension and consolidation .Play a guessing game . 在有意义的对话操练中培养学生的英语思维能力。学生在创编chant 的过程 中，可以培养创新思维能力，同时在比赛的过程中能进一步激活思维，展示其所积累的知识，并进行创造性的运用。表扬中插入新授句型，让学生在不知不觉中理解语言，接受新知。创造一定的语境。把机械的语言变成有意义的表演，增加操练的趣味性。培养合作精神，增加应变能力。在实际会话中加大信息交流量，同时让学生能参与语言实践活动，体现综合能力。鼓励学生发挥想像，大胆创新，同时进一步激起其兴趣。
